Well boys & girls, its been exactly 1 week & no sign whatever from the boys in blue!!
We've done a fair bit of research & found that they are indeed extremely busy, just go on UK crime stats & see the horrendous numbers, its scary,  & in a way I feel for them as the 2 plod & their cycles ( read massive cutbacks ) have a lot of area to cover!
I am still amazed however at the fact that I received a fine the very next day after I was 'caught' speeding in the car at 35 mph in a 30 zone, hows that for efficiency!!   ( no, nothing to do with money, honest )
I feel that in the not-too-distant future, there will be a public anti-government uprising of some sort to get this more under control, people will only take so much.
F*ck democracy, we need a 'good' dictator, namely you lot & me, we'd have it sorted by next week-end!
( think scroat-loaded  supertanker, enough fuel to get half way across Atlantic & a big bung on a timer )

Thanks fellas for your kind replies.

Completely with you Lawrie... sometimes I wonder if we have the right priorities.  Fortunately we don't have this theft problem in Austria (at least not at the same levels as you seem to have in the UK), but I get equally pissed of at the police priorities here.  They are exceptional efficient at catching speeding offences and imposing on the spot fines, but seem to be completely inept at catching drivers using mobile phones (no exaggeration... 1 in 4 drivers I see are on their bloody phones usually texting).  Seems to me that all police forces have some sort of requirement for revenue generation....

I am certain that there are some good cops out there desperately trying to do their jobs... and let's face it, speed limits are there for a reason and I think that without adequate policing many drivers would consistently break the law.   My issue is the inconsistency of approach to motoring 'crime'.

Have to add... your idea of the supertanker is a good one, but perhaps is not tough enough.  How about gathering them up and sending them to a remote island somewhere?  Wait.... that's been done before hasn't it?   :happy1:

I totally agree with you Lawrie...priorities are all wrong with a lot of Police forces these days.
Operation Buell has been set up by Avon & Somerset Police to tackle motorcycle crime in their area..Believe me when I say they are kept VERY busy!!

I've had no leads from sharing your quad details on FB..Strange as its so distinct.
Assumption is the mother of all fuck ups!

One of the big problems with the police (and most other government/public agencies) is that they focus on hitting targets, not doing the job.  :furious:

Today a car doing a runner from the cops crossed the centreline and hit an innocent oncoming car, killing the sole innocent occupant along with the scum and their passenger. The cops will no doubt be in deep shit for this one.
What do you believe.....chase or not ??
Another great day on the right side of the grass.😎

Mick_J

Chase, every time.  They are trying to change the law here on chasing stolen bikes if the rider ditches his helmet, cops used to give up in case the scumbag got hurt.  Chase the little shit, if he dies it's no loss.

Ring the appropriate hotline and report them as looking of middle eastern appearance and wearing a suspiciously bulky jacket....
suddenly other agencies will magically supply some manpower.  😃😃😃😃

Chase, otherwise the Scumbags have won as soon as they have stolen anything. What a precedent that would set for the Arseholes. You would not be able to leave a car or bike sitting anywhere that is not chained up.
I know that's easy for us too say that have not lost a loved one etc, but that's how i feel.

UPDATE,  UPDATE  UPDATE,   err, nothing actually, exactly TWO weeks & no contact whatever from Mr plod, the fellas in stripey shirts must be laughing all the way to the bank.

Been retired 7 years now, but were I starting out again, I think I'd be a crook, think about it, easy, free money, never get caught, & even  if I was, i'd be fed & watered, telly, warm, no bills to pay etc. etc.

If I put it about that I had a firearm, I wonder how long it would take to get a visit from those non-existent police!!!

Sorry to keep on about it, but its only now that I fully realize just how crap the system is, & its getting worse.

keep at it Lawrie. i knoe what you mean. system sucks in Oz just as bad. work your whole life for no help. bad mongrels just cry hard done by. every dollar i earn gets taken off my wifes pension, she ends up with not much. i work because i like my job. i should retire, build bikes for sale, i can do that stuff. then get robbed like you. would destroy me. hard to know what to do.

Apparently crime does not pay  :whistling: my arse.  How many crims drive expensive cars, have all the latest gadgets and every ow and again get a full board holiday at the tax payers expense, i'd be in your gang Lawrie

Another great day on the right side of the grass.😎

ITs just a bloody mess you literally have to solve the crime your self and then go to the plod with all the evidence and then beg them to do something and then maybe just maybe there might some one available next week .  :furious:
i intend to live for ever or die trying !!
