On Ebay at the moment are used crash bars for the 14 at £180 - yet a new set is £120?
I wanted  rubber gasket for my last bike, a Triumph Thunderbird - Ebay was £14 used and yet new from a dealer including p&p was £11 !is it me or is everyone barking ?

Fleabay should always be a last resort. I used to have an Escort mk2 RS as my daily driver, EVERY part advertised on Fleabay would have RARE in the description and a price 50% higher than going to a proper shop.   :jack:
If you are going to run out of fuel, do it in your garage.

It's only a short walk to the kettle.

All good unless you live in Australia. E Bay becomes a friend. Not many bargains in our shops. When a set of spark plugs from england are 1/2 the price from local, when a suzuki genuine air filter is $120 & perfect quality from Poland is 20. Both inc. post. Tyres etc no choice but shop buy obviously. I always check local but have got lots more off ebay. Never a prob.

I always check main dealer and other sellers before looking on Ebay so I at least have a good idea of prices.
Some sellers on Ebay seem to live in a dream world regarding pricing of things
Assumption is the mother of all fuck ups!

You realy Have to know what you are looking for to buy on eBay and the fact that 60% of the stuff sold on there is chinese !!... im not saying its all crap coz its not but alot of it is and its way over priced .
I have a few sellers i use all the time coz i trust them and there prices are very good and i know i will get good service , but ive started going more and more direct to the manufaturer and have found there a lot cheaper .
i intend to live for ever or die trying !!

eBay is a great research tool IMO for "discovering" options when you want to buy something and where you can buy it from.

Often if I find something there (assuming its a company), I'll check their website and/or give them a call asking if there is a better price paying directly to them (so avoiding paypal/eBay fees). Had to buy a new pump for my shower recently and saved over £90 by getting it direct from the supplier rather than going via their eBay advert. Some budge some don't those that don't then I look elsewhere.
Nothing to do.............all day to do it....I love retirement

Trouble is so many of use eBay by default. I'm guilty of that.

my ebay story latest. mate broke his led running light below front bumper mitsubishi asx. dealer price is $1200 for it. my trade price from them $800. wreckers/breakers want $400 for used one. getting cheaper by the minute. i did a big search, i love the chase. chinaman on ali express will supply 100 min. at $20 each. i kept searching, bought a pair from another china person, same photos as australian seller posted. he was $145 each. i paid $20 extra for quick postage, total cost $90 and got both sides sent. perfect quality. mate happy, a spare rhs, just what happened. shows the ridiculous profit that they make.
