How about this? It uses the A1 till Scotch Corner still but then avoids main roads as much as possible. I hope you like corners

It's 289miles & just under 6 hours according to Tyre. Google is showing 7 hours, but that'll include delays from weather today. Let me know if you want it for TomTom or Garmin, I'll add more waypoints to stop the twat-nav cheating & then upload it.

Yes please Hooli for the TomTom ( mines an older XXL model for a car)

Hooli

I'll do it later @Speedy1959 once I'm home from work.

I should be joining you lot on the friday as I won't be in Scotlandshire the night before. Do we have a confirmed meeting place yet? I know I need to add Aston onto the route to meet someone (can't remember who as it's too early to think).

Speedy1959

The "someone your to meet at Aston" is me Mr Hooli
:)
Just give me an approximate time and and exact place....
I could have gone further south to meet but that would have been silly on my part.

Lol that'll teach me not to read the thread back. Any suggestions for a place to meet? I don't know Aston really so mine would just be a guess.

Just had a re think about where to meet you all.
I am trying to fit in with the majority so how about I meet you at either the "Holiday Inn Darlington (Scotch Corner) in the car park or a little further on, on the A66 at the "Sedbury Layby"..

The screen shot photo should make it clear..

The A66 seems to be a common venue for both Mr Hooli and Mr Red Biker / Stoli..
I just need you guys to agree on an approximate time so I can calculate backwards for my set off time.
Its about 90 miles for me to that point so I would like to top up the fuel within say 50 miles after the meet up.

I'll be in Garforth so with a stop for fuel it's only an hour from me so that's 11am ish. A tad early for you guys I think.
I'll probably push on thru as I think I'll be earlier than most.
I have 4 bikes and 1 wife - why can't all 5 shut up when I take a key out

I vote for the cafe, I normally stop there as it's decent food.

Hooli

Right assuming it's the cafe (not that it makes much difference to this). It's about 5hrs from there to the meet, so would leaving about 11-12 make sense? should get us to the meet by 5-6pm even allowing for fuel stops etc.

It's about 45mins from Weatherby services where meeting up with others was suggested so how about 10am at Weatherby services. Eat at the cafe on the A66 & then head up with a fuel stop on the way. Plus another fuel stop near the hotel of course so we're full for the ride out on the saturday.

I'll do tomtom/garmin files from the A66 onwards as I'm sure we can all manage to go north on the A1, turn left on the A66 & stop half a mile up the road in the first layby that's dead easy to see.

seth

There is a Tesco on the north side of Perth that'll be great for your last fuel stop before dunkeld.

Spot on Hooli
The lay by stop it is...
Can you confirm the lay by at around 11am ??
Have I got that correct ?

Being earlier is not a problem if required.
S.

Hooli

Sounds correct to me Speedy, lets see if Stolly wants to join us. It should be about the same time he's heading up anyway.

Anyone else who wants to join is welcome too of course.

Speedy1959

I did get the impression that Red McBiker wanted to meet up..
Come in McRed..
are you receiving ?

seth

Stoli probably going just head north .
@Red Biker is at the football tonight I'm sure he'll be along to sort out with you guys .

I'll see what time I'm kicked out of my cousins house. They all go to work Friday morning so I'll need to leave when they do. If I'm close to timing I'll hang st the meet place.

If I'm out at 8 or something I'll just ride on up guys
