Has anyone had any experience with black widow header pipes. They reckon that they fit a standard collector box. I have 4 : 1 yoshi can.(K6) Is this true. How easy are they to fit & how well do they fit. Do they make much difference over standard pipes. Do they last well too.
I would be greatful if anyone could help. Or suggest an alternative make.
Thanks

There are those from Delkevic. No experience with either brand. Both are single-walled while the standards are double-walled. Standard have a smaller inner diameter (early Ks have smaller diameter as later Ks) which restrict some horses.

Black Widow header pipes will fit a standard collector, however they are single skin (standard headers are double skin), so they will bronze, but will give a few more ponies. Given you have a K6, you already have stainless (double skinned) headers - so the gain in hp will be fairly negligible (its more when you replace the chrome pipes as the inside diameter of the K2-k4 chrome headers is smaller than the stainless headers.

If you do change, you may also need to get your fuelling checked - I know of a few K5/6/7's where they fitted Black Widow headers and found they ran too lean at lower revs and caused excess heat. A new dyno run and map on their PC sorted it (as standard K5-8 run leaner at lower revs than the earlier K2-K4's). So if you do fit them and don't have a Power Commander, you may need to fit one of those as well.

To be honest for what gain you will get you may as well stick with your standard headers. Where you will gain with the standard setup is changing the standard link pipe to the standard Yoshi on the later models as it has a baffle welded in it - which is a ***** to get out - and easier to get an exhaust company to knock up a straight through link pipe for you
Nothing to do.............all day to do it....I love retirement

I'll take that. Thank you for your reply. I reckon I'll leave it alone.  :notworthy:
I've already removed the baffles from the link pipe.
Yeah not an easy job.
