If you have a laser thermometer and live in a currently hot place it would be grand if you go for a ride, get her warmed up well (the hotter the better) and take some temps at a stop.

I am interested in the surface temperature of the frame tube to which the oil lines are attached to. Specifically the part of the frame tubing next to one of the oil lines (not the part between the 2 lines). Also the surface temperature of the exhaust header next to it would be helpful.

I've got a laser thermometer Andre, we're not as hot as Aussie though. Could have a crack in the weekend for you though, or maybe tonight after work as it's 31 degrees today.

Thank you Col. No need to hurry! The hotter the run and the higher the ambient temp the better. However, don't run yourself or your 14 into the sky. 31° is a good start! I will then take the highest bidder.

Ill stick the thermometer under seat, havent had much over 30 lately, still some summer left.

I'll try and give it a shot over the weekend - 39C in Melbourne.
Need to check out the location though - " the part of the frame tubing next to one of the oil lines (not the part between the 2 lines)" ???
I plan on living forever - so far, so good!

Ok, here's 1 sample Andre.

The frame brace bar temp 75 - 80 degrees C (both sides measured), Oil filter temp 90 degrees, Oil Cooler temp 92 degrees. Headers, not sure, as it was saying 80 degrees, but because they're shiny it gives erratic / false readings.  May be more stable with new batterys, but the ambient temps taken as a control, were correct for todays temp.

Just see what else turns up.

Thank you mates.

Yep, a little hard to describe as well as understand without a picture. I'll post one with arrows pointing to the place.  Will have to fill up with coffee first :coffeescreen:

@black14  Here is the pic. Added one more spot to measure (oil hose brackets). Please keep the engine on until done measuring.

@KiwiCol Thank you Col. Very nice to have added oil filter and cooler temp.  :onya:
