Actually I am not worried at all as work and sourcing are part of the fun owning a bike. A different kind of fun than riding but still a great deal of fun. My 2nd 14 is a lot more fun than my 1st. I was working then and just shelled out the dough to have the dealer's mechanics do all the work. How boring :happy1:

Excellent.. I like the look of that external filter..

grog

Rick, they look good, filter better. why prefer the stainless? just wondering as im not changing mine.

Hi Grog,
I'm fuel injecting my 1600 Cortina powered Sprite and  I was going to use the same sintered bronze filter that we used, a salesman at my local performance shop said I would get better filtration and flow out of a stainless filter, it was physically larger though. They sold both, our sintered bronze one was about half the price in their shop.

those old 1600 were a mighty motor. Kent from memory was name. as apprentice i cleaned out literally hundreds of blocks etc. my boss was aust. under 2 litre spoert sedan champ. lotus 23b was car. i once sat on floor lhs, did 130 mph on track. fva, four valve assembly, was fitted to a basic block. timing belts to drive head were a novelty then. side draught carbs, he then imported japanese bits to upgrade celica/corolla. had first levin agency in oz. a gtho falcon was 5490 bucks, a pair of carbs for celica were nearly 2g.

posting in wrong area i know, im very bad. just thought someone would like to see my old bosses next race car. 500 hp in 1977, weighed nothing. https://www.engineswapdepot.com/?p=14105

Yes Grog, you are a bad boy.  But ...

Back on topic.

@RickC Is this the the Epman? (Found them cheaper but this link includes a nice pick of the inerts)

Before I can do the high and low pressure filter mods I have to empty that fuel tank. I prefer to empty it riding... fat chance of that though. After over 2 1/2 months of living in a dreary wet world and the outlook for the next weeks not being better it won't happen. Had the biggest storm in over 10 years pass through on Thursday. Now back to the usual shite weather.

RickC

That looks like the one Andre, I'm just not sure how well it would fit under the tank.

Andre

Maybe have to take out the sledge hammer to make it fit.  :coffeescreen:

Epman has more in its line up. Will have a looksee.

RickC

I've ordered one like you posted Andre from China for US $12 delivered for my car, if you aren't in a hurry I can take a picture of both filter variants side by side with a ruler or some dimensions.

Andre

The dimensions are:
Length Including Fittings - 180mm
Diameter Of Filter - 49mm

Having looked around I am having serious doubts about it. Can't find that Italian company online. Chinese made products CAN be great as long as a reputable (mostly non-chinese) company stands behind it. I can't stand deceivers (other word for criminals) regardless where they are from but that country seems to have a knick of breeding them.
