Reading through the older posts (typical newbie) I am seriously jelous of the power you guys get to play with.

Living in France, until 2016 every bike was restricted to 100bhp. Mine is a 2006.

I will be planning a trip to the main dealer to check if it has been derestricted (permitted after 2016 but, being France, with lots & lots of paperwork) if it has, they have not told (and paid) the government as my log book says it s standard.
If you are going to run out of fuel, do it in your garage.

It's only a short walk to the kettle.

Hi lil4399,
In standard form the GSX1400 is "only@ 106 hp so I cant see you need to worry much at all.
Its the grunt (Torque) that makes these bikes such a pleasure to ride..
They behave like a much more powerful bike than they are.

seth

as said standard around 106bhp
without going mad on throttle bodies or big bore kit.
then with a good exhaust (akraprovic) yoshi st1 cams and a good set up your looking at around 135bhp at the rear wheel .
makes the bike what it should have been from day 1.
only a slightly modified gsx1400
oh and a standard one too

Maybe pm Tallman - he lives in the south of France and pretty sure he has got Yoshi cams in his, so I guess must know the way around any paperwork etc.
Nothing to do.............all day to do it....I love retirement

In Germany some 14s are restricted to 98 hp. That was for insurance reasons (cheaper).

Accomplished in a simple way by limiting the throttle. See pics.

Removing it should be simple too unless the restrictor was welded to the nut.

98 to 106 as easy as that. Now to find another hidden one to give another 20, wouldnt that be good.

Andre

58 horses more for a 14 can be super easy and cheap...

If you have a restricted one for drivers license purposes (48 hp)  :rofl2:

My K2 was 98 hp German model. There was only a small clip restricting throttle cable movement on throttle body. Easy to remove.

I guess it's a tank off for a little nosey around!

Cheers guys
