Thanks Irish, that's excellent.  Way better value than ebay lot.

Don't worry, I still love you Irish (in a non gay way of course )
I decided after my first 3 day solo ride 2 Year's ago at this same time of year, that I am going to do it every year, and explore areas I have not been to before, by myself. So this is my 3rd solo ride.
This way I can stop, leave, piss, change plans etc & basically do what ever the hell I like without thinking about others.
I wouldn't do any of this if anyone came with me, as I know this type of thing annoys me when you are on a group ride and trying to cover a lot of kms. I have been going to bed early & been on the bike by 6.30am to compensate for stopping where ever I like & taking photos etc  :)
Definately prefer going on group rides 98% of the time, but I do love doing this when I have to take holidays in Dec now, and would recommend it to anyone that can handle spending a couple of nights by themselves.

Sweaty, amazing thing you did. solo rides are just special, you and whatever your heart decides. not done it lately but have lots thru my life. here to cairns, here to tassie, my ride to cairns was my life best. took every back road i could, stayed in mackay, then just kept going, thru canefields etc no phone so was on my own. 2 weeks and over 5 th ks. never scared, no real plans. wish i was 40 again. a bloody reliable ducati, that was cairns trip bike. still miss it.

Tim Shaw. I pasted some info below.

He became best known to Australian TV audiences as ("The Demtel Man") between 1992-1995 as he presented as the face of an infomercial "AS Seen On TV" sales company TV commercials & infomercials for Demtel International. He popularized the expression "but wait, there's more" in Australia. He was also well known for offering a free set of steak knives to anyone who placed an order within a set timeframe.[1]

Ah
Maybe not that hard to explain :hat:

By the photo's it looks like you did the Omeo, Bogong High Plains & Mt Hotham. The divided street ,,, Bright? You're a lucky man Steve.

This is a route I sent JW when he asked for advice for the April 4 dayer. I don't think he liked it because it meant a bit of dirt on the Bonang the next day. I think similar to your route. https://ridewithgps.com/routes/26559204
If you look like your passport photo then you're too sick to travel.

There's something missing . . . .  no bugs splattered on the bike?  Are you riding so fast you're vaporising them? or are you polishing it up prior to next photo shoot?

Nice looking area though, roads would be a bit quiet aye? Be able to let her stretch her legs now & again?

Good pick up Col. I actually bought a 3 pack of sponge cloths on day 1, to wipe my visor down with every stop, as there are 1000's of little bugs out here, as well as your usual ones. But thought it was a good idea to quickly wipe the front of the bike down at the end of each day, so the little bastards are not baked on when I get home. Hopefully a quicker & easier wash down process when I get around to it at home.

Roads are very quiet and her legs have been stretched a few times  ;)

Spot on Pete, I started in Tumbarumba this morning and added a few kms to this.

Sweaty , when home get some Bowdens fully slick. Those bugs will just fall off.

I do the same thing Sweaty, damp cloth & dry soft one to clean & dry the helmet visor. I give the front of the bike a wipe over at the end of the day to remove the majority of the bug splatters, check the chain then shower & beer o'clock.

Exactly what I've been doing Col, I bring a lens cleaning cloth with me to dry it  :onya: Will also look into Grogs recommendation when I get back.
