Col look at this way you are still here to let us know you survived a big bonus. Did your safety gear work well ? You can always repair or replace a bike. I wish you a speedy recovery bud.  :hat: :hat:

Update, Had scan on Friday, didn't tell me anything at the time, suppose they're not allowed to. It's getting better & I've got more movement & strength in the arm. Seeing Doc for the results tomorrow, but I'd be fairly sure now there won't be any need for surgery - (please not) it still pops & clunks when moving it & masses of bruising on leg & down bicep but nothing much on shoulder itself - which is puzzling.  Oh well, answers tomorrow I hope.

Blgdave, ACC covers part of things, the 'top up' nowadays is bloody huge!   Not 10 of 15 bucks, try 70+ and it's for each thing, x-ray, scan, dr visit.  ACC is a bloody rort!  We're supposed to be covered, that's what the scheme is for, it's not working though.

 it's not working though.

And there in lies the problem.....You are working and you can pay !!

Was reminded of a story on the radio today. A few years back, fella breaks his leg while escaping from jail.......got ACC payout.....Go figure ??
Another great day on the right side of the grass.😎

Last update on the shoulder, went to get the results today, no muscle or ligaments pulled off the bone, hard to believe when I see that one sticking up out of my shoulder, but anyway.
There's a thing called a bursa in the middle somewhere & it's swollen and is the bit I can feel popping in & out of place between joint.  I've got heaps better mobility after a week of resting it & just doing a bit as it allows, so they're hoping it'll fix itself with more taking it easy but still encouraging it to move normally without stressing the joint.
It'd be the best out come for me if another week or so will bring it almost normal again. They did say it could be 6 months or more before I had no discomfort there, which is why they've penciled me in for a possible steroid injection into the bursa.  It may not come to that, hope so anyway.
It's still fairly tender and the muscles around that area are working differently to compensate for the awkward way I'm having to do things so now they're playing up & sore.
It'll all come right in the end.

The bike, well the dealer still has not submitted the repair price to the Ins co yet. They've had it over a week & are trying to get prices for parts - I had them in under an hour, so don't know where they've been looking.  Suffice to say, no progress on the bike.

They probably put a parts request out on Parts Trader Col.
All the dealers get a chance to put a price in to supply the parts, both new and secondhand.
That way the Insurance Company are assured of the best deal. Just takes a few days.
Another great day on the right side of the grass.😎
