Homemade jack up kit

Always loved rear end higher on bikes but 150€ for jack up kit for my 14 is too much! Decided to make one!
Started with 20 mm thick steel...  Drilling  :jack:

Finally!  :boogie:
Ended with cca 35 mm rear end lifted.
Satisfied with the look, can't wait to try it!

Absolutely top job - be interested though to see if handling is affected as I see you have (effectively) moved the bottom mounting forward from standard.

Do check your chain slack though, in some instances a jack up kit can cause the chain to get a bit tighter than normal on full travel

Well done! I don't have the skill, patience or tools to do work like that.
You made a real good Job there.

Yours is a little further forward where mine is further back and up.
Both will give a similar lift but there may be a fraction difference in leverage
due to the shock angle.

Mine is a little less stable at licence losing speeds, but a damper will fix that.
I love the extra cornering clearance and the different feel from the front end.
I was a bit fussy about mine and spent time untill I got the suspension right.
Seat initially felt odd but I got used to it before I got around to changing it.
(I also went from 190/55 and 200/50 tyres back to a 190/50 now its lifted)

If I ever get another 14 it will certainly be on my to-do list.
A 14 needs a full system, PC111, PAIR's and a jack up to suit me.

Tried to copy this type of jack up kit, so I think there will be no problem. Standard shock angle is 60° angle, mine is now at about 52°angle.  I moved bottom shock mount  48 mm forward and 5 mm up, that gave me cca 35 mm lift at rear wheel axle. Putting bolt in secong hole (60 mm) causes raer end lift for 50 mm.

I said I love the look of lifted rear end, but the main reason I made this mod is to have enough clearance for pegs. My plan is to make rearset plates that will allow move them about 4 cm down and 5 cm back. I know it seems too much but I am tall guy (202 cm) and I need more legroom! Still have to figure how to do it with standard exhaust. Noticed that only akrapovic pipes give enough clearance for pegs to move that much down but my budget is low...
Will figure out something.... :stir:
I already modified seat to be 3 cm higher but still not enough.  Reaching floor was never the issue...

I wouldn't expect any issues at all with using either design,
Its only a very small effect of the leverage applied to the shock.

This group has a love / hate relationship with raising the rear.
I look forward to your road test.

Making these plates will be peace of cake...BUT I have to figure out how lower standard exhaust to get room for footrests go down. There is only 1 to 1.5 cm clearance under pegs. Moving them back is easy. Thank you for advice anyway! :cheers:
