Seeing as you blokes are fitting LED Daytime Running Lights thought I should fit mine. They are quite small and don't look that bright but they are.
Thanks for the wiring tips gents :onya:
Have some red ones that I'm thinking of putting into the rear brake light circuit. Just got to decide where and how to mount them.
Another great day on the right side of the grass.😎

Nice one Kiwi..
As you say in reality they are brighter than the camera makes them appear.

Fitted these to my oil cooler cover - just enough clearance ! one LED is brighter than the other - it may be the earth I used on the nearside so will rewire to use the same earth and positive  as the other to check the if its  the LED or the prat who wired them !  :smile2:
The older I get the better I was
The problem with retirement is that you cant take a day off

Rode home in the dark last evening. LED's are certainly bright.

Should i get a dozen more to Pimp my Ride  :whistling:  ........maybe not !!

Now....before i forget.
I have piggy backed onto what I thought was the power side of the horns. I have bared and soldered a loop on eath lead and put horn mount bolt through it. So now when I use the horn the LED's go out. Which, to be honest I dont mind. But why does it do this ??

Voltage drop when the horns are used? Most LEDs don't 'dim' they just go off when the voltage lowers.

What's the current draw on your LEDs? shouldn't be much, you could try running them off the front sidelight feed & that should cure it.

Speedy1959

Ahem.....
you err did test which was the + wire before soldering didnt you ?
Actually I take that back..
Before I come out with sarcy comments I better test mine dont dim/go out!
Both wheels are off my bike at the moment so I will test when I think the neighbours dont mind.
Some times I think I am too "nice"

Kiwifruit

Thanks Hooli.  :onya: Sounds fair. They come straight back on as soon as i let the horn button go. As i said i dont mind because its kinda like flasing them.

Shouldn't be a big problem anyway KF. Not very often the horn gets used, well not mine anyway.

Funny I seem to remember saying some comments back about checking what happens when you press the horn button..... :whistling:

sorted - same brightness and the horns work but led's do go out when horn pressed but Highway code says flashing lights are a warning ! and I can't remember pressing them anyway cos they hear me coming! :smile2:
