If anyone is thinking of swapping forks, you may find this table handy (attached)
Nothing to do.............all day to do it....I love retirement

A B-King would be an obvious choice and set up for normal bars rather than clip ons AND from a heavy bike.

Probably harder to get B-King bits than 1400 bits though....

i got my yokes from these guys
I'm fitting b king forks and brakes .
with std 1400 wheel (same wheel and discs)

www.billetbikebits.com

they do 2 different ones
K2-K4 and K5-k7/8 the differences being the immobiliser ariel on the later models
everything else is a direct swop and fit from original yokes.

the other place
that is very useful as b king and all upside down forks are to short is

http://www.extremecreations.com.au/
but the page is down just now

is it possible for any of you facebooker's
to find out if its coming back online
as there is a facebook page too .

they have 2 lengths of extentions 50mm and 75mm i have the 75mm ones.

Those billet yokes are sweet but a bit expensive. I asked my friend to make couple of extensions for me and they work like charm with a fraction of the cost of the whole yokes:

I initially tried to extend the piston lenght but it didnt work, cant anymore remember why...

And one option was to make a new, longer cap for the fork but that was too time consuming compared to them sleeves you just slide over the fork tubes

So there are many options to extend the forks I suppose

Hi there
I was thinking of replacing the forks of my gsx 1400 but  are the b king forks a straight swap apart for having some yolks made up to suit .
Will the brake calipers fit and the 1400 wheel and will I have to upgrade fork springs.
Or are there other Suzuki forks that would fit,i.e. Haybusas forks.
I did look at chart but could Not work it out.
Cheers

B-King forks / brakes / wheels are very similar the Gen-2 Busa (08 onwards)
Lots of parts are the same of will at least swap.
Both have excellent radial brakes.
They don't have much in common with a GSX1400.

Gen-1 Busa (99 to 07) forks are a little different and have the old dated 6-pots.

Even though the B-King is a fraction heavier than the Busa its fork internals are slightly softer. Some B-King owners use Busa ones but really either should be set up to suit the 14 not just chucked in.

New yokes and a stem swap should fix the length (USD forks are shorter) Other things to look at are the steering full lock stops, mounting clocks, indicators and headlight and the ignition switch. B-King front end will needs its own calipers, wheel, disc, spindle, front guard and master cylinder.

The easiest way is buy a complete late model radial front end and get custom yokes made. I'd still expect to be playing with oil / springs etc to get it right.

Hi, did anyone just bolt on a radial front end, without extensions.I have a 06 r1 front end with a very fancy front wheel and slab yokes to fit a gsxr1100, on my 7-12 at the minute. As far as i know it should fit.Its 3 cm shorter, would it make much of a difference.I recently saw a 14 with k5 1000 forks, and no stepped down yoke.Looked well.Ill put up pics, when its on....Griff...

If you have a "Thug" type top yoke you can drop the forks within the yokes and don't need to extend them. I did this to maintain ride height when I fitted a USD front end to my Mk1 1200 Bandit.
I made some caps up to tidy things up. I also made up some adjustable eccentric steering lock stops.

I also wanted to retain the Bandit front wheel and discs. I was able to do this by changing the size of the wheel bearings and making up caliper spacers as the Bandit discs were bigger in diameter than the GSX-R discs. It all took a bit of working out, but it worked perfectly in the end.
Assumption is the mother of all fuck ups!

Hi Guys!
One Question.
How is the lenght of original Frontfork from
CL spindle to top of fork cap of GSX 1400 ?

Thanks

810mm to top of cap face - i.e. not the cap nut...
