Blinker fluid and a long wait...

Hi everyone
West Aussie here and I've finally got around to buying a GSX1400, the bike I've always wanted to own but was too afraid to...no not really, just was busy riding other style of bikes.
I've always loved the look and when I started doing the research and read the reviews about what an awesome all rounder it is, I decided now is the time to own one. Should get it in about two weeks so I will post pics and details when it's arrived.
Currently ride a Honda CB1100, beautiful bike and does everything superbly but it had three things that just weren't sitting well with me and that's why I thought it's time for the GSX.
Itching to get it now! So I hope you will excuse all the dumb questions that will spew forth from my screen when I do, but I can see there is a huge amount of knowledge on here that I will be hoping to tap in to....I'll be back to ask about changing the blinker fluid  :whistling:

Hi and welcome.

I'd be interested to hear why your changing from the CB1100.
My neighbour has one and I found a few reasons not to want one.
Its nice you can get a CB new but I'd still prefer an older GSX.

3 things ?
Skinny wheels?
Small fuel tank?
Not very impressive engine??

Tony Nitrous - the reason I am swapping from the CB to the GSX is because -
1. The tank on them is tiny - 14.8ltrs so effective range is only about 230kms which can be a pita
2. They are only a five speed and find I am always looking for that sixth gear whenever I'm over 90kmh - it start to vibe a bit through the handlebars at over 110kmh which on a long run can give one the craps
3. The seat is not comfortable after about 30mins - it is cut low for the Japanese market and they got imported in to Aus without changing them
Beside that, if you were just using it as an around town bike it is as smooth as silk.

welcome mate. ask and youll get an answer. some wrong but mostly right. just kidding. brilliant stuff here. blinker fluid is toxic, hard to freight. there is worse things, bleeding the throttle cables, that is tricky. the seat height adjuster, that is a real pain in the arse. new pistons every service, youll find someone that offers a cheap deal, we all have. just things you learn to live with. not a bad bike really.

You forgot the tappet widget adjusters grog, tricky little mites LOL. AS for the Blinker Fluid - not a job I relish!

While the sitting position is great for fast cornering I dislike getting my nuts crunched into the tank and the narrow knee angle. Didn't have these issues on my first 14!! I think that the previous owner's arse reshaped the seat. It's easy to fix though by adding a little material to the seat at the right spot. Your mileage may vary.
