Can anyone help? Out today on bike. After about 20 miles stopped and bike would start, however as soon as gear selected engine cutout after approx 3-3 seconds. FI light flashes. Did the code check and comes up C23 Tip Sensor.
It's an 03, where is it located?
Cheers

Right hand side, behind the rear master cylinder.

Many thanks Hooli, much appreciated.

Garage picked up bike this morning. Phoned this afternoon to say their stumped, can't find fault. Phoned suzuki dealers and their none the wiser😭

Hooli

Check the connections to the tip sensor I'd say. As far as I know it's a switch that turns off when the wrong way up, so I guess if you took it out you could short the right connections & make the bike run if the sensor is faulty.

I don't think they are the most useful thing anyway, 50% of the times mine has been on the floor it's not cut out automatically like it should.

ETA: I'm sure I recall a few issues where the sensor has fallen off it's mount & ended tipped over causing these problems in the past.

Andre

For a thorough check this might help. And yes, I doubt that the garage did all that.

seth

my old k2 did this and it was corroded conections to the tip over sensor was the problem.

Contacted dealer for an update. New TO fitted.....fault still there🤔 They have ordered a new ECU. They reckon there's been an alarm fitted in the past and that's giving problem.
Hmm!!

KiwiCol

Sounds like the dealer is just throwing new bits at it until it goes away, be ok if it was their money they were spending.    New ECU ?  Hell that'll cost, I'd go PC5 way if I had to replace, not back to a std, one.

If Alphadave was still around, he'd be able to sort it.

where are you john ?
as might be better if another 14 is used to swop parts over till the fault is found rather than spending a fortune on parts and labour thats not needed.

New ECU needed? my farking arse!

I'd try shorting the contacts the tip sensor works on near the ECU plug, I'd bet it's a dodgy connection like Seth says.

Gsxjohn

I'm in Northumberland Seth. Luckily I've only just got the bike so it's under warranty.
I kind of thought the same Kiwi, but as long as the dealers paying!!

KiwiCol

You're a lucky man. Oh well, let them keep firing bits in it if they're paying.  Suggest the PC5 anyway.

if under warranty then its in there interest to find the problem and sort it asap as its costing them .
but good news for you .
hopefully its sorted soon tho as its a shame your not getting out on it.
