I used to, used to do a fair bit of pier and beach sea fishing, but to be honest since having the 3 discs in my neck replaced a few years back, I just can't cast like I used to. Occasionally go out wreck fishing, but not as much as I'd like.

Yep! Quite a few wrecks off the Kent / Essex coast in none too deep water, can be good fun fishing those as varying shoals of fish, just have to be careful there are no divers, as many of the Padi schools use them for training. Haven't caught a diver yet

Nice. Wrecks make great artificial reefs.  You'd get plenty of snags though, line getting caught on things.


Where we go fishing (Kaikoura) we're fishing in 80m - 150m deep, even done 700m deep once.  We use electric reels nowadays, very gentlemanly way of doing things.
