Selling up

Hi.I took my bike for its annual test last week and it passed again(never in any doubt).On the way out i was asked if i wanted to sell so asked how much would he offer.My bike is a k3 b+w and done 7000 miles,not mint but very good condition.He made a generous offer and i said id think about it.

I went for a test ride on another bike - africa twin with dct and seriously thought about it and decided to sell and move on.However as i have had time to think about my decision i have reached the conclusion that i cannot sell the mighty GSX.Its just too good.

Glad ive made the right decision.

It all depends what you want from a bike - Africa Twin is a great bike (but does have its issues), 14 is a great bike, easy to work on and still pulls a crowd wherever it goes. When I say it depends what you want from a bike for an all rounder the 14 is great for touring, then probably the Adventure type bike may be a better option, as it can tour, go offroad and generally dela with the many varied road conditions one meets better.

The 14 always holds a certain love though, always hard to part with. Sounds like you followed your heart

Am keen to know what issues the Africa Twin has. They certainly look the part.

mate had a ducati, not sure of model, similar vein to africa. hated the ducati, it fell over, superficial damage, no parts, wrote it off. now has yamaha tenere, loves it. my thoughts are on new stuff, will be many new models in next ten yrs, each one supposedly better than the last. 14 will still be the same, a great bike.
