Nor me, I wonder if it's a non-English designation? The English designation is K because that's Greek/french for Kilo which is a thousand. So maybe in some countries they use H as it translates as such?

Andre

The french don't even pronounce the H  :happy1:

froggish doesn't even sound like speech so I'd be unsurprised with anything else they do.

I wonder if the guy who sold it to you is part of the org and is reading this stuff and feels somewhat caught out

A UK (or any other non-AU) frame will not have an Australian compliance tag.

I'm not sure how much work or cost it would be to get around this but I wouldn't be buying one until I knew. Another guy was previously after a frame but he was insisting on an AU one, possibly for this reason.

I'd get it welded and not worry one bit.
Heaps of mates have frames (both steel and alloy) that have much more dramatic mods to them than what you have in mind.
My Hayabusa had a piece snapped off the alloy frame that was welded back up many years ago.

Do it right and forget about it....  :onya:

Probably had the wrong bike when i saw the H2 model. Went through that many sights comparing frame prices that I can't even find the site I thought I'd seen it on.

Waiting for the engineering mob near me to get back to my enquiry about fixing it. Shoudn't be an issue too much longer, i'll let you all know!

Thanks for the help everyone. Definitely put my mind at ease!

...them frames are welded together in the first place...

Get a pro welding it and it's done - I'd weld it my self, it aint rocket science you know.... - cable of the battery whilst welding and it's good to go.
...I accidentally Mordored my motor, is it bad...?

Tony Nitrous

I've had a few bikes welded with the motor in place.

I normally just disconnect the battery and unplug the ECU. Takes seconds. Maybe if I was extra paranoid I could unplug the clocks and Reg/Rec but I haven't in the past.

Yeah it's was E2 not H2 my bad.

Got the frame fixed at Laurie Alderton in sydney. They're frame specialists and they were excellent, welded and braced it, plus straightened the A frame section as it had twisted from the uneven rear suspension.

Cost me $330 which i'm not unhappy with.
