Barmy, did you put the ballast/driver inside the headlight on yours? I have done but I was in two minds about it in case it got rather warm.

BTW they fit fine, the lamp unit is no longer behind the light than a H4 with the multiplug on. I had to bugger about rebending the spring clamp to hold it in, as standard it was pressing against the large fan on the back on the lamp & not letting it seat properly.

Yes Andy, I did put the ballast resistor inside the shell on my Explorer, it was a bit of a tight fit, but it slipped in alongside the reflector.

When you say you had to bend the spring clamp - you did put the LED holder in with the screw heads facing forward (as per the instructions) as I had no such issues.

Glad to see it all fits though - what do you think of it now its all fitted up?
Nothing to do.............all day to do it....I love retirement

Looks bright & appears to have a good beam pattern, I won't be sure till I use it in the dark which isn't happening much currently.

It did all go in as it came out the box Barmy, the problem was the bit of the wire that sticks up for you to undo the clip was pushing the back bit on the back away from the light so it didn't stay seated. I just had to reshape it a bit further out to clear that & all was good.

I was at a Honda dealer yesterday (don't start) and noticed that the very pretty CB1100 has a 7" headlight stuffed with LEDs, may be another option to go full on LED.
Keep the rubber side down.          Mick

Left home at 4:45am today for an early start at work. I can see in the dark again! I don't think it's quite as good as my first HID but it's a hell of a lot better than the standard bulb. I can do 80-90 down roads where the normal bulb limited me to 40-50 previously.

Brilliant Andy. I must say for the money I'm very impressed with them, one of my better buys - like you I've found them excellent at night, also during the day I feel I can be seen better

So a good result in the 1400 Hooli?
Easy to install?

After all. that's what I'm interested in.

Whether they work on a Triump is of no interest to me at all....   :stir:  :stir:  :stir:

it was this Triumph owner who suggested / "introduced" them to this forum as an upgrade for the 14.

I won't bother in future if that's how it's to be.

I have been looking at these for the R3

Amazon have got 7" units as well but for Hardly Movingsons,  i'm wondering whether these can be adapted to fit but the GSX has a parking lamp and i'm not sure if this is a Mot requirement?
Started out with nothing, still got most of it left.

No chance right now to get LED headlights MOT approval here in Germany, but still interested in this topic for the future. Regarding "improved" headlights I found that improved has its price. More € and less (much less) durability.

A doddle, all I had to do was bend the spring clip a bit as it was fouling the fan unit so the lamp didn't seat properly.
