Gidday Bielie, I recall the name, but not seen a pic before.  Was it you who had a PCV & autotune fitted?  I recall someone from Aussie had it.

stupid question - if I invert the tank, will it leak fuel out?

When I cleaned my "Teabag" filter and did the regulator wire clip mod I just ran my tank low (2 bars I think), then stood it upright on a rug.
Mine DID leak when I initially turned the tank upside down..
Its just as easy to remove the pump using my method..

The few times I've had my tank off, it's not leaked. Once it was nearly full too & I always put it upside down to work on it, not leave it at right angles.  Just lucky I guess.

My personal experience: 2-3 bars on fuel gauge, tank is upside down and no leaking.
Tested this Saturday :)

usually plan to not much left, both flashing. have a suction thingo , designed to suck oil out of briggs n stratton mowers, to change oil. i use it to suck out last of fuel. then just upside down on a towell. never had a fuel spill. im very paranoid about fuel stuffing the paint on tank. have never looked at any other way. just how i do it.

Hi Kiwi
Yes got the PCV and Autotune, bike is at the dyno at the moment, I also fitted a cordona quick shifter.....now that is fun, seamless torque and acceleration 😂

thinking a stainless steel hose clamp rather than wire. any idea what size in mm i need. i know lazy, should get it out, measure myself. help appreciated. just easier than out, measure, go and get, then refit. i have a huge selection at work.
I used a metal cable tie (medium) from halfords as in pic- they're 200mm and are just big enough.

What comes to emptying the tank, I detach the fuel line and direct that to a can, turn the ignition on and ump the fuel pump relay - it'll run the tank empty...
...I accidentally Mordored my motor, is it bad...?

I had a problem with this infamous clip letting go while i was out on Saturday.
I'd ridden from Wakefield down to Grantham and all was ok.
On the way back the bike started misfiring and eventually stopped.
When trying to start it i could get it to fire but not run.

By this time i was stranded at the side of the A1 and it was 30 degrees hot and sunny.
Even tho i seemed to have plenty of fuel (three blocks) i walked to the nearsst petrol station and got a gallon.
No improvement.
I rang for a recovery truck and was informed that i was a hi priority case and a vehicle would be with me in 2 and a half hours.
Bearing this long wait in mind i pulled the tank off wondering if the tea bag was blocked.
When i went to withdraw the pump the white clip had come off and the regulater was hanging out of the pump body.
After i'd got the pump out i was able to push the regulator back in but with no white clip and no cable ties with me i was struggling to find a way to retain it.
I found a piece of blue rope at the side of the road and seperated some strands off it and tied the regulator in place.
This worked and i got home ok.
Yesterday i took the pump out again, drained the tank and found the clip.
Put it all back together and wound some welding wire around it too........
It'll not be coming off again.
This clip is just a poor design.
As some of you may recall i'd had the pump ass out to replace the pump a few months ago and i recall i did fit the clip correctly.....
