It was a tactic used in the war, aircraft with their lights on were harder to see than those without.  I have my lights wired off till I need them.
Keep the rubber side down.          Mick

Headlights are hardwired on here too Vlad. To be seen I've been told 3 lights make you much more visible. As in headlight and 2 spots like some adventure bikes have. Riding instructor had some handguards with about 50mm LED lights in. They worked real good.
Another great day on the right side of the grass.😎

I hear you Dave. In Nz if anyone is on a pedestrian crossing you must stop......yep makes sense.
But the pedestrian often just walks straight out without looking as they know we must stop. Now we have motorists slamming on their brakes because someone might be near the crossing. If im using the ped crossing and see a bike coming i will step back and wave them through......and usually get a wave back.
Being a motorcyclist has also made me a better car driver im sure.

Not quite correct Col, Yes we have to stop for people on a crossing, but they have to wait till the way is clear, they can't just walk (or run) out onto a crossing and expect cars to stop.

Different to here, in Victoria you must give way to folk waiting to cross, once they have passed you may continue if the way is clear, on a school crossing you must wait till the kids, and the lollipop lady are off the road altogether.
