"The bike might but I doubt the thread will.  I need to limit by passion for Busa's on here!  I have been looking at wet-60 Holley / NOS kits, they are a bit basic and dated but simple and reliable, my favourite kit. I've done big bores, nitrous, a supercharger etc but only ridden other folks turbo's so that's a box I'd like to tick too.  No rush, I might run it around a while, dyno it and find a test and tune meet at the strip first. My stock Gen-1 and King both ran 10.3's,  I think this'll be quicker although I'm waaaay out of practice"

Times haven't improved much since 1984.

Managed to get out for a few hours this afternoon, not to far 70 miles or so but the first proper run since the winter maintenance was finished & happy to report it was well worth it as the bike feels better than ever

The lower times get the harder it gets. It's a huge step that stock bikes can now run in the 9's.

Every 1/10th to shave off is harder than the last, the fact that a professional rider did something once, on a prep'd track in ideal conditions to set records, and is still slower than a clumsy old bloke sat upright on a naked bike at his local track shows how bikes have moved on.

When I ran a 10.3 Bec ran a 9.9 on an identical bike, I'm never going to be competitive, it's just a bit of fun for me.

To anyone who follows drag racing, although Busa's have been around 24 years at the drags, and the Gen-2 has been competitive for 15, a new Gen-3 Busa got a turbo and has absolutely smashed all existing records for a stock wheelbase bike in the quarter mile.

This morning.

Pretty happy with it so now I can start looking at pipes, stacks, filters, BTL lock ups etc etc.  I wouldn't mind a run in the Street Series at Willowbank. No long arm, not super low, no slicks, needs lights and foot shift etc so no proper drag bikes. Might be interesting.

Wanted some washers from Bunnings, Bunnings is 40K's (25 miles) away. It took me 245K's (152 miles) the way I went.

Blime you have some great countryside around you Tony,,
Showing my ignorance now but Australia ( around your area) looks more lush than Id imagined..
My Pom idea is something like watching "Opal hunters" or other Aussie programs !
Hot dusty desert/scrub land with annoying flies ! :embarrassed:

grog

Lots more than deserts Mate, but yes we do have flys by the millions some areas.Something needed to experience to believe.

This is the road past by place...

This is the few from my Sofa / lounge...

Folk get the wrong idea about AU, it's so huge there's a massive variety from the deserts, to the coastline, to the ski slopes and snow fields, to the tropical rainforest. There's a huge variety. Imagine Norway or Scotland compared to Greece or Cyprus.

EDIT:   We're a couple of weeks off the start of Winter here so not as green as it was.

Went to the Numduc rally just outside of Dowerin in WA. We could only stay Saturday night because we're old and that's life. Actually started the weekend Friday by Riding 200km south to Boyanup and picking up my friend pictured and his Z900RS, then 300km n/e to the Rallysite, beautiful day and leisurely ride.
Ended up going to bed at 3am, awoke about 8am and because there was no canteen available we started back at 10am. Made it to a servo nearly 2/3 home and fitted the rain gear. The rain hit as we pulled back out onto the road, last 30km before home the skies went black and the rain was coming in sideways. Made it home just as the thunder and lightning started.
Today I rode the last 200km home and it rained the whole way.
Excellent weekend.70747713289__09B19B7C-573C-4AA7-BFE9-E02AEE6A2801.jpeg
May the sun be warm & shining and your roads be smooth & winding.
