UK Bike Thefts

I'd like to make everyone on here aware of the recent massive increase in bikes being stolen in the UK.

Please ensure that you take the adequate precautions when securing your bike..Even if you just pop into a shop etc for two minutes.

The problem is based mainly in London and North Bristol, but bikes are being stolen all from over the country.
In London, gangs of chav scum riding stolen peds are even hijacking bikes using various methods..Spraying the rider with acid/ammonia and in recent cases using powder fire extinguishers to blind the rider while they hit him off and ride away on the bike.

There are several "Stolen Motorcycle" pages on Facebook that you can join should you be unlucky enough to have your pride and joy stolen. Recovery of the bike though is highly unlikely and only a very small percentage are recovered.
The North Bristol gang usually joyride and then either smash them up, or burn them out!
The above gang have Instagram accounts which we have access too..They post daily photo's and videos of the bikes that they have stolen and destroyed. The Police are fully aware of the situation, but do absolutely nothing whatsoever to address the situation. They just advise motorcycle owners to make sure their bikes are securely locked up!! Not much help when these scrotes are armed with battery disc cutters, which will go through a high quality 19mm chain in a few seconds!

Sorry if this sounds alarmist, but over the last 4 months I've seen literally hundreds of bikes stolen and it's getting worse as the days go by.

The above to groups are "Closed Groups" for obvious reasons, but you can ask to become a member.

This poor lad was mown down on the pavement by a stolen moped just earlier today. He's not the first and at this rate he certainly wont be the last.

If it involves paperwork they're not interested.
If it involves sitting in a car by the side of the road booking motorists for riding/driving a couple of MPH over the limit, or for having a small number plate or loud exhaust then they have plenty of available resources..Minimum effort and lots of easy money.Makes their crime figures look so good

The law is no deterrent if it can't be enforced ..... Even major crimes carry little or no penalty now. Prison capacity is reached almost daily so the chances of a custodial sentence are minimal ..... So bike stealing scum roam free and we pick up the tab in increased premiums and increased risk and then take it up the chuff for doing 37 in a 30 ..... Chill pill ordered

sadly they wont fight this crime as its not in the best interest to chase or even follow up bike crime .... we are just to low in the food chain to care about    but steal one of there bike that's looked up and I bet there out in force to find it

The police are focussed on hitting targets, if there is not target to clear up bike theft why bother, its a lot of work for no gain.

Things have moved along quite a bit since I last posted on this thread.
We held a Q&A meeting last evening in Bristol with Police, local councillors BBC and HTV in attendance. I think we've finally hit home to the authorities that we bikers aren't happy about the current bike theft situation locally.
The little scrotes are still regularly stealing bikes and posting photo's and videos in social media sites like Instagram. I personally monitor some of the known Instagram accounts and forward intel..Makes me sick some of the images posted on there

We'll see how things progress as a result of this very positive and well attended meeting.

Things no different here. Latest is the cons want air conditioning because its too hot in their container cell. Poor boys its against their human rights to be so hot.
I bet they are better cared for than some people in the old folks homes.
How come they havnt figured out. Dont commit crime, then you dont go to jail ??
The scrotes here have no fear of jail. Its like a badge of honour to many.
Mate i'd cut a deai with Thailand and send them to jail there. Thats only if the crime they commited did'nt deserve the death penalty.
Same with the coppers here. Under funded, under staffed, not respected by many and with targets to meet.

These are a couple of quotes from a bike thief who is at present doing time in HMP. He was jailed for throwing rocks off a motorway bridge at passing cars..He got 2 years but he'll be out in 12 months...I can see his Facebook account which he's still posting on while "inside"

Here they don't even go to jail!

Even those who have committed atrocities while being member of a terrorist organisation are not being prosecuted by our federal prosecutor. Exactly 564 cases were dropped and these vile criminals are now roaming our streets while being pampered with tax payer money. The reason given is that these atrocities were done in foreign countries and it is not in the national interest to prosecute them. Now we have them roaming around here waiting for an opportunity to do their thing when they feel the time is right. Of cause they can't be deported as they may not be safe in their home countries as their governments might arrest them and put them to death for their crimes against humanity.

Prison is no deterrent here plus some of the sentences make no sense, A bloke was caught speeding on his bike got 2 years as did a bloke who killed his own baby, both be out in a year, bloody ridicules.
