Today by pure chance caught up to 3 1950s Ariel Red Hunter 500. My 1952 was my first road registered bike, 54 yrs ago.Loved that bike, kick it &forgot to retard ignition, broken ankle or over the tank you went. Today realised are very slow, very small, skinniest back tyre, smell bad to follow. Would still love one now.

I had a 57 matchless G80 for a while, while it was a great bike it was very slow and as for the lights  my wife had to lead on her bike as I could not see where we were going they were that bad.  I could start it by hand, the tick over was slow and even and it sipped petrol.  However I don't think I would like another.
