Horrible Noise

Loud Harleys have irritated this area forever. Today i decided theres much worse. Diesel 4wd, Rangers, Tritons etc with open exhausts. Just a super loud horrible noise, then the boost valve pops off with a scream or whistle. Just cant understand how they find it nice or how you could listen to it constantly. I love any car/bike with a good note but they just make noise. Old n irritable, yes and no.

Oh the sound of a lifted and locked GU Poootrol with 34inch muddies......not

Agree Grog, not the nicest noise
I try to take one day at a time, however sometimes several days catch up with me at once.

I fully understand why anyone would like a loud(ish) bike, it's just you and the exhaust for company.  But I cannot understand why anyone would have a loud car, they are for doing the shopping in the pissing rain so you want a nice warm, dry, comfortable place to be so you can listen to music or even talk to your passenger if you have one, not be drowned out in your own private echo chamber.
Keep the rubber side down.          Mick

Our area is plagued with chavs driving cars with "pop & bang" ECU maps mainly at night. They sound like total sh*te. Some of the worst ones sound like automatic gunfire.

The local plod have clamped down a bit recently and thankfully seized and crushed a few of them. Hopefully the rest will suffer from terminal engine failure very soon and join the others on the scrap heap :rofl2:
Assumption is the mother of all fuck ups!

We've got a couple here , one in a sh*tbox fiesta, the other an ordinary civic . They both do it at night as well , accelerating between speed humps then backing off making an awful racket. The worst offender though is a kid on a KTM 125 single with an aftermarket exhaust and the baffle removed, the noise is just horrendous. I like a bark on a bike ,but not like that . Oh and the other one occasionally is the fat boy poser with screaming eagle pipes (deafening). Ok moan over .  :furious:

In a previous job I got to drive a lot of high end Porsches, GT-RS's as well as stuff like Audi R8's. The sound on start up, or blipping the throttle was glorious. A lot nicer than many bikes.

I used to be a big fan of fruity pipes on bikes. Not so much now. My GSX14 and Bandit have baffles in their aftermarket cans, B-Kings aftermarket cans are louder than stock but legal.  Gen-3 will probably get a new exhaust because the OEM one is huuuuge and very heavy, not because I want loud.  At least on a bike with a bit of go to it you can hook a higher gear, drop the revs and the sound drops dramatically if you require.

Little learner bikes sound awful with open pipes as the owners are normally killing them to get a decent pace on. The folk dressing up like Gay Pirates on cruisers just seem to want attention as obvious performance isn't an option for them.

Gay Pirates on cruisers  :rofl2: Now that's funny, good one Tony.

Horrible noise happens here pretty regularly.

It's my missus saying "No you don't need one of those, don't buy it!"  :wife:
Ottomans: 'Hippity hoppity, Vienna's our property"
...and then the Winged Hussars arrived.

Agree Vlad, that noise is more horriblerer than any gay pirate or pootrol

Campbells on a GSX1400 not only look bad but they sound bad too.
If you look like your passport photo then you're too sick to travel.

Worst exhaust I've ever known on a 14.

They also run as bad as they look & sap power like nothing else.
