today phone calls from every where.  Overeseas, NZ. Guessing it wasnt one of the Cols. Txts, emails, phone calls from Amazon Prime, never used. Telling me i owe tens of thousands, will deduct $99 each day until paid. A scam, hope so. Just not sure. Tried to block Amazon at bank, theyre too busy to answer. Too old for this shit, wastes my time trying to fix, just not a fair thing. I couldve spent that time fitting brakes to bike, amazing waste of time.  :angry: :angry: :angry:

Not me Grog, I'd have given you a heads up through a pm if I was going to call / txt.

You can block those numbers on your phone Grog. Amazon does not call so definitely a scam
I try to take one day at a time, however sometimes several days catch up with me at once.

Thanks Eric, not really worried, just annoyed me yesterday after a hot annoying work day. All good today.

The most regular pain in the ar$e that I suffer if from an automated message to my land line;

"This is Bank Security, we have received two unusual transactions against your card, please press 1 if this was not authorised by you".

The first question of course is that of the five adults who live in my house, which one to they think they are contacting?

Secondly, don't they want me to know which bank they are?

They are going to have to be much cleverer before they get a call back from me.

Happens once or twice a week, I don't know why they think I will fall for it this week when I haven't for the last six months.

I like the idea of a bit of revenge timewasting though...

Had a new variation this morning - an email saying "warning, contents not secure" ON ITS HEADER! Guess they're hoping the hapless inquisitive will take a gander lol

Entirely pointless, These callers 'spoof' numbers. That is, they are real numbers but the calls are not actually coming from those numbers they just appear to be.  In truth you are blocking a 'real' phone number. The chance that phone number belongs to someone you know or need to talk to is very remote, but not zero.

I have got calls from people saying they missed a call from me... and I never rang. This is exactly what was happening.

When I worked for BT we used to change customers telephone numbers in the exchange software to make test calls - to any number we wanted - was in the early naughties  :)

Probably a scam but just received a txt message saying congratulations you've won £250 or two tickets to an Elvis Presley tribute night.
It said press 1 for the money or 2 for the show.
