If a bike has a Power Commander fitted is there any need still for a 4 degree ignition advancer and does doing the Pairs delete still make a difference.  At this stage I would probably only run a downloaded map as it only has a slip on atm.

PC3 makes no difference to ignition timing & PAIRS still has an effect.

Is a 4 degree ignition advancer better than a tre or is there an even better option.

Mate, you have a very good tool fitted. Delete PAIRS, just a good thing to do. IMO only. Then either try download or get Dyno. Obviously Dyno better, mine runs sweet without either but others have different opinions. No expert but never found the need for PC, happy with mine.

Oh now there's a can of worms!

I've never used either to make my own judgement, but you'll get as many saying one is better as the other.

I don't have either fitted that I'm aware of, I'll have to check. Only just got the bike and removed the seat to see if it had a pc111 or v. I'll have to have a better look on the weekend to see if it has a tre or an advancer.

As above PCIII will make no difference to timing, all the PCIII does is adjust the fuelling.
4 degree advancer will give an advance in all gears, TRE will only impact gears 1-4 but in reality you'd be hard pressed to tell the difference between the two - just don't fit them both! Some TRE's in the dim and distant past have been known to make the wiring loom catch fire, but haven't heard of that of late. Personally I'd fit the advancer, but that's me.
PAIRS removal is a good thing, bike will run smoother.

Yes that will work (its called a GiPRO with aTRE) - but again not if you have the advancer fitted. If you do have the advancer fitted, you can still fit the Gear Indicator with aTRE but have to nullify the aTRE portion (which is how I used to run my K7) - instructions on how to do this come with the Healtech unit - copy of my user guide attached for reference so you can read how that is achieved (see section 5.2 bullet 2)
