Hi All,

First time post, been here a while. I will put up an intro shortly.

But I have a question. My GSX1400 is a 2005 model. What K-series is it??

Cheers,

A 2005 "model" is normally referred to as a K5.

That's doesn't tell you when it was built, sold or registered though. Just a reference to that model version.

I have another Suzuki that is always called a K8, but it was built, sold, registered and on the road in 2007,  and that model was being sold as a new bike in 2007, 2008, 2009 etc.

It's quite common to hear bikes labeled as a K-something they aren't.  Check the date on the Compliance plate and post up the paint job / factory colours if you can.

.... and Welcome. I have family up in Ayr and Home Hill.

If you have an immobiliser key it's at least a K5 if not you probably have a late registered K4.
Keep the rubber side down.          Mick

Thanks for that folks.

I assumed it was something to do with the year. My compliance place has 12/05 as manufacture, so I guess that makes it a "K5"

Cheers.

P.S. Thanks for the welcome.

Being that late in the year I wouldn't be surprised if it was a K6.

As I said, my B-King was on the road in Oct 07 but there's no such thing as a K7 B-King, they start with a K8 and mines just an early one.
