Sad news indeed
Wes put Suzuki on the map
And his efforts with the gs1000 became legend and ultimately lead directly to the production of the gsx1400 .
We all on here owe Wes  a debt of thanks .
Rip  :cry2:
only a slightly modified gsx1400
oh and a standard one too

Too young these days.

It's so weird seeing that first image here  and see a racebike still with a steel front guard !
Ottomans: 'Hippity hoppity, Vienna's our property"
...and then the Winged Hussars arrived.

Wes one of my absolute heroes, teamed up with my Aussie heroes at times. Suzuki Champion. Then just now i do my usual bike news search. Paul Smart.Far out, im gutted this week. I lived all that early Ducati stuff, was so proud they did good from his 1972 win. I learned all how bevels worked because his big win.Everyone said bevels were crap, to me just beautiful. RIP both.

I saw that as well @grog, Paul Smart, one of my heroes, he had his bike shop not too far from where I lived - such a nice bloke would talk to everyone and anyone. And dies how he lived riding motorcycles. RIP Paul and thank for all the memories

Has rocked me, legend. Fairly sure married to another legends sister, good old Barry Sheene. To me it seems strange, a blokes win in a race, pushed me to learn about bevels. Two best motors ever put in a bike, bevels and 14 . Shoot me down, IMO.
