Hi. First of all sorry if this in the wrong section and i've done a quick search.

I have a running 13k K6 with bent forks and which has been cat B written off.

This afternoon I'm going to look at at a cheap K2 with high mileage and possible a damaged engine. Would my K6 engine go into the K2 frame?

I'm thinking to make one good bike out of the 2 if possible. I believe, maybe incorrectly that the differences are from K5 onwards:

Immobiliser with the ignition and ecu (I'll stick with the K2 ecu, mainly because I only have one key for the K6 which is about to break and I'd have to get another programmed)
Uprated rear shocks on the k6 which may go on the k2
Uprated wider forks (won't be changing the K2 ones, although they may need re-chroming)
4 into 1 exhaust which I imagine would go on the K2, but I also like them with the twin cans.

Everything else I think is the same and inter changeable.

The main thing is to put my lower mileage running engine in the donor frame and swap as much over as I can. Is this possible please?

Hi Kristen, yep absolutely possible.  Sounds like you've got most of it covered already.  If you want to put a 4 into 1 on a K2 you may need to swap the hangers / pegs off the K6.  There may also be some differences in the main stand between the twin cans & the single, I only have single cans, so unsure on that bit.

Good luck with the swap.  Put some pic's up too.  :onya:

Kristen, im no expert but heard of others swapping motors. Should just fit in and re plug to early connections. Others might know more.

I did this for a friend about 4 or 5 years ago.
I put a 2006, 50,000kms motor into his 2002 bike.
I didn't change anything apart from the motor.
It's still running just fine.

Yes, i think Seth or Hooli recently said frames are the same across all years, minor difference on the centre/side stand iirc.
I try to take one day at a time, however sometimes several days catch up with me at once.
