For you blokes that represent your country at snoring........
Anyone using a CPAP machine.  Pros & cons please. Thanks in advance.  :onya:
Another great day on the right side of the grass.😎

I tried one for a few days, couldn't live with it.  I'd wake up constantly gasping for air, heart rate racing. Took ages to calm myself enough to go back to sleep, only to wake again within 30 min with the same thing.
I took it back to the clinic, thanked them & said it's not for me & never went near them again.  Sleep Clinic, bugger that.
😎  Always looking for the next corner.  😎

I had the same reaction as you Col & sent it back also but it did give me a good insight in to what it's like to have an asthma attack.
If you look like your passport photo then you're too sick to travel.

I did try one years ago but finished up ripping it off one night as you say Snapey scared the hell outta me.
My dads got one he says its really good. I find myself tired and yawning far more than l should in the afternoon.

That's got nothing to do with your nights sleep it's because you're old mate.

I had sleep apnoea 6 years ago and had the cpap machine.
I used the nose mask with pillows rather than a full face mask .
The first mask was a straight through so as the machine is positive pressure there is a flow of air coming out of the mask.
1st problem was this jet of air from the mask hitting Emma in the night waking her.
2nd was the hose kept getting wrapped around my neck.
3rd was the noise if you open your mouth when sleeping wakes you up straight away.
4th having to sleep on my back as I have always slept on my side.
We fixed the jet of air problem by getting a different mask that had a baffle fitted.

The main thing to help me was lossing weight 25kg then the sleep apnoea went away .

A quick side note was if you have sleep apnoea you are at high risk of getting type 2 diabetes which I now have .

So take care and try to lose weight and get the doc to keep a close eye on you .

Good luck

I used t snore like a total Mother Fooker but like Seth I lost a shed load of weight - stopped eating after 7pm and it reduced significantly - Ive now started to exercise 3 or 4 times a week and wife says Im so quiet while sleeping that she has to poke me to make sure Im still alive (I sleep outside of the covers that Im always cold)

Should give her a torch Del then she can shine it in your eyes to see if you respond.

I have bad slepp apnoea stop breathing every 3 seconds or so. Results in being supertired as brain has to wake up each time to restart breathing.
Was really tired on longer trips and even fell asleep at wheel and nearly had a head on.
Scared the shit out of me.

Now on a machine. Nasal pillows. Sleep on side facing away from missus. None of the problems others have described. Does take about a fortnight to get used to it.

She is happy as she no longer sleeps next to someone snoring like a chainsaw.
And I'm rested properly.

So best thing I ever did.
