Unexpectedly went to a bike meet up tonight in a tiny village called Wray (Lancashire).
The was the most gorgeous 2007 example of a GSX there..
Were you the owner ?

The problem with retirement is that you cant take a day off

KiwiCol

It's an absolute cracker isn't it.  Would even make Barmy proud that.

What's that blue pad & coil thing coming up from under the stand?  Not seen that here.  Wouldn't be a pad to put the stand down on to keep it clean, surely!

 It's there to keep the side stand from digging into soft ground and thus keep the bike from falling over (and getting scratched/dirty).

Kiwifruit

Not really a chrome or polish boy, but l must admit thats lovely. A credit to its owner   :hat:
Another great day on the right side of the grass.😎

Very close Andre - but not quite (sorry). I saw the coiled wire trick the other year and have done exactly the same to my side stand pad. You are absolutely correct in that its there to stop the side stand from digging into soft ground - but the coiled wire up to the handlebar? that's so when you get on the bike to go and lift the bike up off its side stand, the pad automatically comes up on the coiled wire so you can slip it off the left handlebar grip and put it into your pocket. None of this having to lift the bike up slightly to pull the pad out first to get it out then put it down on the soft ground whilst putting the pad away

Dead easy to do, you get a coiled wire (as per used on disk locks), drill a hole in the pad and connect it using a key washer. Really neat little trick  :clapping:

As an aside - whilst the heading for this thread is Fabulous 2007 example, the bike is actually a 2003 K3 from its paintwork. Very nice, lots of chrome on there including the casings, someone has spent time and money. Superb.
Nothing to do.............all day to do it....I love retirement

I bet the owner cries when he's caught out in the rain.
Keep the rubber side down.          Mick
