OK a cheezy title but you are reading this and so who is worse?
You or me...

I have bought a used but good condition OEM Suzuki fuel pump.. Its sold as 21000 miles old, and mine is 28000 miles old.
I quite like the idea of the reverse flush of the HP filter..
But to reverse flush (or just do the HP bypass which also appeals) I need to know which of the wires would be positive for normal running of the pump..

I am assuming I would submerge the pump in a large jar in some sort of suitable cleaner???

If I go for the bypass mod then am I right in thinking that the external filter becomes essential?
I also intend to do the Stainless welding wire mod that GSXBarmy suggests in his write up..
I bought the used pump so that I can play about and experiment with the pump without causing my bike to be off the road..
One last thing.. Do I need a replacement seal for the pump/tank? I am told its a large O ring.. ??

Thanks in advance

On Yamaha fuel pumps if you run them backwards they get damaged and don't work after.
I washed my high pressure filter using a full large can of high pressure carb cleaner .
The plastic lugs on the fuel regulator are a bit fragile so be careful with them.
The O ring on the tank seal can be reused just apply a smear of grease when reftting it.
I still think a regular clean of pump and tea-bag filters and the inline low pressure filter mod will save long term problems with anyone's fuel system.

only a slightly modified gsx1400
oh and a standard one too

Youre just making things way too hard. Too much thinking.
