I was driving a new SQ7 today.
I have never driven any car that had so much grunt at any speed and any revs.
I remember when diesels used to be taxi's, bus's and Transit van's, f#ck me, I've never driven a diesel so nice before! Big family wagon that thinks its a sports car!

Yeah mate - modern common rail diesels are a world apart from old direct injection engines.
I have one of the latter - a Tdi Defender - which could probably be described as the opposite of that thing you drove.
On the upside - a new injector only cost me $90 including fitting...
(compare with 10 times that for a new injector for the missus Jackaroo... and I doubt they've gotten any cheaper since)..

When it comes to charging points, Germany is like a huge desert. Electric car sales here are a huge flopp.

Well take that area, and multiply it by a large number to get a country the size of Australia - I don't think it'll work all that well here....

I can't see any electric vehicle being able to cross the Simpson desert or doing any number of remote outback trips... but I'm sure the pollies have an answer for that... just ban it.    :jack:

We might cut down on pollution in out city's (at considerable expense and inconvenience) but if we are serious about world pollution what the UK and AU do is a drop in the ocean unless you get the huge and rapidly expanding Chinese and Indian Governments / Car builders to play the same game.

It's the SQ7's electrics that make it clever.
The V8 twin turbo motor is good but the 48V electric compressor makes it next level for a family car.

900nm / 665 ftlb of torque and no hesitation in any gear at any speed !

I've been driving several different Porsche's this week but the Audi impressed me most.

Your job sounds terrible

I can't get excited about Audis, but it certainly sounds like that thing you drove is a beast.

Doesn't matter to me though I can't afford admission to that ballpark !  :)

We have the entire range from VW / Audi / Porsche / Kia / Hyundai / Mitsubishi / Toyota / Skoda / Isuzu trucks and a few others, but I'm a bit like you, the car I drive home in is worth less than the suspension upgrade on the Audi

....  :rofl2:

My Brother bought a new Tesla and is quite enthralled with its performance but mostly, country driving isn't usually more than a 350km round journey. He also has a second car, I forget what it is so if he needs to he can accomodate.
I personally am looking forward Electric Bikes and the possibilities it brings for Batteries. Imagine if you could Flash Charge a Battery in under 2 minutes. Hopefully, out there somewhere is some pointy headed bespeckled mathematician working on solution right now.
May the sun be warm & shining and your roads be smooth & winding.

Tesla ? New batteries currently £25K !!!!

my 12 mth old hilux 2.4 turbo diesel. made to conform with newest euro regulation. brilliant work ute as far as comfort , power etc. 40 th ks. problem is its fitted with particulate filter. every so often blows clouds of smoke. i mean huge clouds. has had 3 new filters fitted under wrty. new computer re flash, problem solved they say. im worried. wrty runs out at 60ks. each filter costs 6k dollars. WTF. ute has to work for another 5 years, will it do it, not sure. will it do it without huge expense, not sure on that either. trapped as too much to re fit another ute. my last hilux, petrol, 300 th ks and only repair needed was a clutch. even sold it with worn out clutch, still going 12 mths later.

We are constantly told to cut our emissions and the noises from bikes are offensive.  Has anyone been stopped next to a bus in traffic, can't hear the bike cos of the row a bus is putting out then when it pulls away can't breath cos of the shit coming out of the exhaust.  :furious:
Keep the rubber side down.          Mick

I deal with 50 to 100 Kia's most days. We have 700 coming in this week.
They are better than I expected. Certainly the more recent models. Sportage and Sorento would be my pick although the Cerato's seem the best sellers.

Not seen the specs on the smaller Stingers, but the twin turbo version put in similar times to the n/a 6.2ltr Commodore in tests. I read the police have vehicles booked for testing.
