had a go on a friends gsx outfit at a party in the Netherlands.
before you start with the why put a sidecar on it he's deaf so and has hearing implants so no balance means he can no longer ride a solo bike
great fun tho the brakes don't work on wet grass

Well that's different but I do not understand that front suspension.....
Never seen a bike need modding for use with a sidecar AND that suspension set up looks... well... dodgy and DIY.

the leading link suspension is the most expensive part its designed to keep the front wheel flater on the road  and help eliminate front end dive under braking .
it has both front calipers on the same disc and also a car tyre on the back wheel.
they have a very strict licence system and you need to pass an extra test to ride a sidecar outfit.
sidecars are very popular in mainland europe the uk has much more trikes .

Most sidecar outfits in the UK have those forks on them, and most are DIY. From  technical point of view they are far better than conventional forks but look shite so are not popular, BMW have persisted with the telelever though.
Keep the rubber side down.          Mick

They LOOK weaker than traditional forks.

Interesting though.

I've never seen conversions like that over here, probably not a chance in hell of getting them past our design rules rubbish....

Why would you remove one disc then put two calipers on one side ?
Another great day on the right side of the grass.😎

seth

its a rear wheel on the front so only has mountings for 1 disc
also runs a rear tyre on the front as it reduces the risk of aquaplaning and to help it turn better and a car tyre on the rear wheel .
it has linked brakes to help with controlling it in wet or slippery conditions.

it can happily sit at 100mph cruising on a german autobahn .

Seen many leading link fronts in Vic.
The demo I originally rode that set me on the road to 14 ownership was brought by another bloke here and converted.

is there a front wheel on the side car and I take it if it does it turns with the bike front - Ive noticed the bar off the RHS fork - Im nt a fan of them but that side car is a bonnie looking thing

no its a car wheel on the sidecar
the bar from the rh fork is the stearing damper

a 2 seater side by side .
his wife sits on the bike tho and camping gear in the sidecar.
sometimes his little dog also goes in the sidecar.
