Just seen a really nice 1400 up for sale on Facebook page.
Now I hope it's not anyones on here..Owner goes by the name of Shaun Musselwhite.

Beautiful looking bike, BUT I'm a wee bit concerned about the amount of metal that has been removed from the caliper mounting points on the fork lowers...Especially the lower one.
Is it just me??

What do you lot think??

thats a lot if metal been removed but if that's the only problem it can be over came.
i would either change fork bottoms or get it welded back to full size then machine to where it should be

i wouldn't trust the brakes as it is so could be a big bargining chip if you want it
only a slightly modified gsx1400
oh and a standard one too

I know Shaun - he used to be on the org as SVC2013. He and I swap mails regularly, he's a mechanic - I did mail him about the new forum, but he did say he was thinking of selling his 14 - looks like he is then
Nothing to do.............all day to do it....I love retirement

No..I'm not after it Seth..One's enough for me at the moment.

He spent a lot of time and money on it, essentially building it back from a box of bits after the previous owner pulled it down to restore it. No expense spared from what I recall

Bet those dual yoshis sound sublime  :smoke:

RickC

Great looking paint scheme on it.

I think that the caliper mounts have been painted black in the recess. Not convinced that there's been any metal removed.

Mick_J

It's a fine looking steed, what's he asking for it?

on a closer look you might be right if nothing has been removed then not a problem and a very nice looking bike

If you look at the top mount you can see it's been painted otherwise you'd see the silver of the disc behind it.   Personally I think that spoils it but a very nice tidy bike all the same.

Yep, looks like both recesses have been painted black. Well spotted.

VladTepes

That's a VERY nice looking bike.

If it was here, and I had money..
