So yeah looking at hip helping bikes. Took a new Speedmaster for a ride. Like riding a skateboard, stiff suspension both ends.Exhaust sounds clogged up, salesman said de cat available. Seat is arse burning. Most other stuff is pretty good. To make a nice bike, $24500 to buy, $1000 new rear shock, $800 forks upgrade, Corbin seat around $800,DE cat just on a grand. Sort of makes it a bloody expensive buy. Ridiculous in my mind, used ones have no resale value, only way to go.

Boulevard M109? Its a Suzuki, 1709cc, fwd controls...
I try to take one day at a time, however sometimes several days catch up with me at once.

Would it actually make a lot of difference on your hips ?
That's a lot of money.
Have you investigated the lower foot pegs option Grog ? Far cheaper.

Best allrounder I've ever owned 👍

The M109 would be a great bike, but perhaps a tad too heavy?  They'd be reasonably prices too on the 2nd hand market in Oz.
😎  Always looking for the next corner.  😎

Looked into lower foot pegs,I scrape boots now so not liking that idea. Highway pegs arrived today, when fitted mounting bolts too close to engine cases, reckon if bike even just fell over would punch a hole. They can go on the unwanted shelf. Raising seat height next thing to try, mine is lower than oem so have a bit of height to play with.

How many times has your bike fallen over Grog?

Yeah I know Eric, being a Virgo drives me crazy, worry way too much.Never fallen over, tipped over on its head by guess who, we landed on mud/ mulch no bike damage, one mirror only.Exhaust sizzled Wifes leg. Will see how a higher perch goes🤷🏼

Was getting the Michy Road 6's fitted at the tyre place today, they also had a Duc Monster and Suzuki Boulevard side by side.  I think the Suzi takes a 240 rear tyre, definitely looked long and low, with fwd controls, nice fat tear-drop tank and the rear end actually looks quite nice, tail section with integrated light all swoopy.  Not too much chrome.  https://suzukicycles.com/cruiser/2024/boulevard-m109r

It made the Duc look like a mini pit bike.

I reckon it would be something I would look at if I was in your position, heck may even start looking now

If you're worried about the mounting bolts being too close to the engine casings in the event of a drop, change how the pegs are mounted.

You're mechanically minded, I'm sure you could work out something, but how about just trying them to see how they feel? You're not going to drop it while you have them on for a trial, just stick 'em on and have a try.

Slightly different clamp, a nutsert into the bars, there's a couple of ideas for ya, but you need to try them first to see if they work for ya.

Yeah Col, I know all that stuff. Not really what I want to do unless have to. Raised seat, hoping is good. 👍 Former org Steve porter, he reckoned raised seat best option.

KiwiCol

So an inflated air hawk under the sheepy then? or are you going straight for resculpturing?

I test rode one and your foot rests against the exhaust. not good
The older I get the better I was
The problem with retirement is that you cant take a day off

Thanks for that Notty, you can read up every review but never find out if bike is suitable until you ride it. I've found that out several times, jerky throttles, vibrations, Diavel until retuned was dangerous down low, stall so easily. Thruxton so much heat off motor, no good in our Summers.Much harder these days to snag a test ride around here, used to do lots.
