Hi all, well tomorrow im off to sunny Norfolk on the train to collect my new k3 in primer  :P
Its been probably 18 years since my last 14 and they were pretty young then, so my question is: what should I be looking out for regarding upkeep etc? Fuel filter etc? They were pretty bulletproof then so im hoping they still are!
First pic is the bike I've bought, second is the bike im selling and third is my last 14 which hopefully someone will recognise and tell me it still exists!
Cheers jon

To Infirmity and Beyond.. :-)

Hooli

The main things are like any older bike, bearings, rubber hoses etc.

The low pressure hose from the back of the fuel tank to the swirl pot is known to spilt with age, the vacuum pipes from the TBs can do the same. Give both a squeeze & tug once home to see if they feel healthy. You could go mad like I had with my new 14, but I doubt you'll need too as mine is a perfect example of everything you can ever find wrong on a bike.

Bahahahaha reminds me of the joke about what's the difference between pink and purple ?

How hard you squeeze it.

Jon just check everything you can see. Tyre age is a factor also.

Aprilia Tuono were a good bike.

Jon, there's a checklist on here for new owner , under General Technical, the thread is worth a read also as another dealers checklist on there. As said check everything, nuts, bolts, adjustments, check/ change fluids. It's quite a list of to dos but worth it👍

Heh heh brand new tyres fortunately, ordered a few bits today including some bar end weights that seem to be missing, although there wasn't much vibration through the bars. Something im not used to on the tuono as well as a nice light clutch and it goes into neutral first time! That never happened on the ape either
Incidentally if you know of anyone looking for a cheap gen1 tuono to hoon about on for the summer, please send them my way!  :8:
