Have times changed that much since I sold my last 14 that nobody mentions bypassing the high pressure filter any more. The consensus seems to be that swapping the complete unit for a cheaper Hayabusa pump/filter is the best solution. Aren't the Busa and 1400 units the same design with both having a sealed high pressure filter that's prone to blocking? When the time comes for some maintenance do you guys still back flush or just replace the filter with a Busa one or has anyone drilled the hole to bypass HP filter lately?
If you look like your passport photo then you're too sick to travel.

Hey Snapey, hope you are well. Seems about 50/50 which way they go with filter.Im firm believer fuel flow/ pressure creates so many probs on 14 but people chase other probs to fix it.My external has been on a while now, never a problem. If that copy Busa filter had been around then, for $30, throw it away, fit newie, maybe thats how I wouldve gone.My pro flow filter now looks like needs new o ring, pro flow dont sell separately, cant find replacement that size, guess another filter, thatll be over $30. 😡

The only difference with the 'busa filter is a couple of blind holes on the top with brass inserts where the fuel level sensor would screw in. Considering I used to get 50k miles or so per high pressure filter what's the point in doing a custom setup when it's so cheap to get a fake filter that works these days?

External mod and in tank hp bypass hole works for me, cleaned out the pro flow after my dodgy fuel episode, amazing how much crud that sintered brass filter stops. Quantum fuel pump runs very well, been in 4 years now.
I try to take one day at a time, however sometimes several days catch up with me at once.

Apologies for the long wait for the update everyone.
Kemso pump and Busa filter were delivered but the wiring for the pump was a pain. Ended up waiting a month for brass ring terminals for the base plate to come in from China lol.
But is all done and pump now fitted in the tank. Stainless wire mod has been done as well.
Hadn't done wiring work for ages but managed to get the terminals crimped ok, heatshrink also put over the connections.
Sheath for the wiring is short on one side but should be ok fingers crossed.
Next is throttle body balancing and TPS check.
Cheers again everyone
