Today visited Triumph shop. Looked at/ test rode Speedmaster.Thinking on forward controls/ hip cramps lately. Lovely bike, riding position perfect. Rode all good except footpeg vibration. Noticed lh engine case corroded already, brand new. Sat n thought, exhaust too quiet for me, no rack or carrying option. I reckon id add a couple of grand bits n pieces, makes it around $25 thou.Way too much money.Rode home the long way, nearly 20 yr old bike and i cant even find one fault with it. Even my hips agreed today. Was a great quick ride.

A mate had an older Speedmaster, 2008 or so I think. He got rid cause of vibes at about 70-80mph that can't be cured so no good for long trips. He reckoned it was great fun apart from that.

Agree Hooli, noticed first ride, couldnt live with it.Didnt expect vibration for premium price tag.

I'm sure they engineer the vibrations in to those particular bikes to give the authentic feel like old school Trumpies 🙀🙀🙀

Well it's a 360 parallel twin I think, so it's going to happen.

Went up and over the Kaimai's to Dad's in Cambridge. On the way down I see so many vehicles riding their brakes much of the way. I decided I didn't want to touch the brakes at all. Really enjoyed riding in a lower gear  accelerating down the hill and using the engine braking. Uphill in a gear that sits around 3500rpm at 100kph the bike holds a good line and is lively. The 14 is so smooth, as old as it is I just love my automatic tractor.
With none of those vibes you speak of and all for under $8k.  :boogie:

Another great day on the right side of the grass.😎

14 is such an awesome bike imo. Fits my body and mind perfectly. I don't want to be bothered trying out any other.

That's why if I do buy another proper bike it will be a 14 again. There's absolutely nothing out there I'd want instead. 14s are like an old pair of slippers, so comfy & natural you don't have to think about them. They just do what you want so easily. Well at least that's how they seem to me.
