Yep, being alive is definitely being better than not ... things take a little longer now, but at least I can still do them  :boogie2:

yeah being alive is a bonus, but just had the news one of my oldest mates just had a heart attack and a stroke, its not looking good for him right now, I hope he pulls through. I don't get it ? i had 3 attacks and im fine, luck of the draw I think.

Sorry to hear about that and yes it's luck of the draw.

I had zero pain from four (or more) days of heart attacks, just a little indigestion and was sick a few times. It was only because my big sister said that sounded like a heart attack that I got checked out.

Then the cardiac arrest, if I hadn't gone out, if I'd been in the long side street going to the chippy and back, if I'd made it back to the house instead of fifteen yards away, if those three appropriately trained people hadn't been passing by etc ... then I'd be dead.

Back in May, my brothers daughter Iona, 24 years old, had a bad headache for a week, then all of a sudden was in intensive care and shortly after passed away, leaving behind a three year old daughter. We're still waiting on the autopsy report to find out what happened.

Fingers crossed and hope for the best, it's all you can do.

Hi Tony, it's life, you just never know what it's going to throw at you, sometimes it's good, sometimes crap ... can only hope that he didn't suffer.

My own hospital stay was strange, after I was released from intensive care to the cardiac ward my memory seemed to be frazzled, I'd forget things almost immediately. Seemingly each day I was calling people and saying "you'll never guess what happened to me".

I remember nothing about the first 10 days in hospital, the first day I actually remember is the day I got my pacemaker fitted.

It certainly brings a new perspective on life, long gone are the days of thinking I was invincible, now it's a matter of taking each day one at a time.

Take care ... Barry

My dad had his first stroke in 2001 it changed his personality to a Kranky Old Bastard. No loss of physical ability 🤞
He's just had another and lost the sight in his right eye. He will turn 89 in December if he survives, his words.
So live life to your fullest you just never know 🙏🙏🙏

Sorry to hear about your dad ... my mum had quite a few but luckily left her reasonably ok ... it's a frightening thing to watch someone have a stroke, but not much you can do apart from called an ambulance.

And yes, you never know what's around the corner, I've always had a kinda "it might be shit just now but it'll get better" sort of outlook on life ... for example, I might have bad health now, but at least I'm still around
