What is everyone using - Just fitted a new rotor and EBC FA254 HH pads but not happy with the result!
Your thoughts appreciated.

I need to go somewhere I've not been but won't know until I get there!

I thought that the GG grade, from likes of EBC, were better for the rears as the HH sintered were much too grabby for the back?
Question everything

gsxbarmy

I used the GG grade on the rear when I had my 14, gave better feel and control
Nothing to do.............all day to do it....I love retirement

Kiwifruit

Personally I like GG rear HH front..
Another great day on the right side of the grass.😎

Hooli

I liked GG all-round, cheap Brento I think they were. They work fine, even in the wet unlike some more expensive ones I'd tried. Lasted well with little fade too.

GSXKING

As previously stated I think GSX rear brake is wooden & only useful in case of emergency imho 🤔
GSXKING 3:^)

Best allrounder I've ever owned 👍

I totally agree Chris, my K7 with different pads not much difference and my K5 is just about the same.

I must've got lucky with my bike as the rear brake works really good. I did come from a 350 kg cruiser so it didn't have to work hard to be better lol.

As I'm in Canada can you provide a part number say EBC 254 - I see some on amazon but want to make sure if I go for the GG Grade.
Thanks

Global, Same part number as you bought just drop the HH. I once put EBC in rear, not sure what type. Threw them after few hundred ks. Terrible and noisy. Now have DP pads, Metal Gear Rotor, good brake. Must be sintered as think DP only make sintered. Could be wrong on that.

I think the best way to keep the rear brake working well is to make sure the spindle for the foot lever is well lubed, I found it makes a lot of difference

Generally when I take my bikes for an MOT the tester usually comments with words to the effect of "Blime your rear brake is good"
That's because I ALWAYS use it in conjunction with my front.
My previous Triumph had combined braking which disengaged if you pressed the rear brake pedal whilst using the front.
It took me ages to learn to use the front only.
Several of my bikes have had awful rear brakes but after a few months of being actually used they became very good.
My GSX with a lowly 6,700 miles on when I bought it, had zero wear on the rear disc.
Now the rear is working as it should, it's actually not bad at all.

Hooli

My rear brake was always damned good when working right, dunno what you guys are on about.

I'll make note of this, I actually need to use my brakes more often, then I thought "why" it will slow me down.
