Beowulf cans...

Bit of a long story...So I'll keep brief.

Got a pair of Beowulf oval stainless short cans fitted. The 'B' and 'F' started to peel away from the transfer. So, it was in danger of saying 'eowul'.

Contacted Beowulf - great customer service by the way. They sent me  a new pair of transfers. Only, it's a different font. The old font as I found out at the NEC show is no longer available. Putting new transfer on - it looked shite. As they old transfers have discoloured the stainless.

Bought some 'fake' Yoshimura stickers. Only to find they are too short. You can see the 'B' and 'F' at either end!

Just ordered a new set of Yoshimura transfers that will more than cover the offending area. These are quite big. Going to roll 'em with a dowel to make them curve a little. Or any other suggestions - please?

But, for a proper belt & braces job. Could I pop-rivet them on? Is this possible? Surely there is just the baffle inside the silencer can. Possible or a no-no?

TIA.

BB its no bother fella - the inside of the can is stuffed with wadding - just make sure the rivets are a good for the hole you drilled - try to get a set of rivet pliers that dont meed you to push on the can

you can machine polish teh stainless and thatll get rid of the discolouration

Del - thanks for that. I've tried to polish out old marks. No joy.

I'll get a wooden dowel and a cloth. Roll the new fake plates. To make them curve. And blag a rivet gun off a mate.

Brian - just be aware - stainless is an absolute pig to drill, normal drills just bounce off it - you may need a cobalt? bit to get through it or get a machine shop to drill holes for you to rivit.

I only mention this from experience of fitting baffles to my old VFR-1000 aftermarket cans, I had to get them professionally done in the ned after blunting 3 brand new drills (colbalt drills do it but boy are they pricey)
Nothing to do.............all day to do it....I love retirement

Thanks Dave - I'll see how sticky they are. Plus give it some stick under a wooden dowel to match shape of can.
