Hello To anyone who reads this. I am new to this forum so apologies if i am not au fait with the correct proceedings etc. But basically i have been waiting for a stator from france which i purchased a couple weeks ago and having been told delivery would be sometime next I now have had message from seller that its cancelled! i nearly cried as i saw the summer flash before my eyes... I wondered if there is somewhere closer to home to purchase one or rewound in uk? Thanks so much in advance :) Luke

Hiya Luke
Welcome best head over the the bar and introduce yourself.
As for your stator I'm sure @Hooli should be able to advise you as he's had a couple due to his bike bring over 160k miles .
If you search his posts under electrical or stator I'm not sure if he's named the company .
Good luck

Was so depressed yesterday - Am now looking forward to the possibility that i will go to the ball this year ;) Thanks gsxbarmy and Seth(again) my phone is getting freaked out at me staring at it... cant wait till the shops open

I can't remember where I got mine done, but I just googled for stator rewind & picked one. There's several places in the UK that do them. Couple of week turn around normally, including postage.

Just mind your fingers as you remove & refit that side cover. The magnets snap it into place rather hard. Oh & lever the crank pulley about half a tooth backwards to get the starter pinion back in as it always comes out with the cover as you remove it.

Thanks all, I plumped for bb bike shop and its around 3-4 day turnaround... (hopefully  :))
I have swapped the stator out before and it was most frustrating for sure. those bloody magnets ! the gasket never sat properly and leaked. The bike has been rotting for the last ten months outside with no cover. re-commissioning it has become quit4e expensive. New gas shocks front fork rebuild chain and sprocs new battery dodgy electrics - hence stator rewind .... ugh! never mind its my own fault...
All the best :)

Good luck hopefully you get everything sorted and back running as good as it should

It's worth checking the multiplug into the reg/rec too, it's not unknown for them to corrode & cause issues. I'd assume too must resistance there on the right pins could cause burnt out stators too.

Check it's fitted well at the same time, from memory the bracket is held on with two rivets & when I checked mine one had rotted away & the other was going. I grabbed the reg/rec & just pulled it off the bike. I put it back with two small nuts n bolts as there was no way I was stripping the bike far enough to get a rivet gun in.
