Our bikes are getting older, I'm wondering what would be the parts to source while we can. :whatever:

Hardest parts to obtain?

Many lots more than that.

Off the top of my head -

TPS - I'm on my 4th
SPS - I'm on my 2nd
Oil temp sensor = I'm on my 2nd
Oil pressure
MAP, manifold absolute pressure
External air pressure - same part as the MAP
Intake air temp
Cam sensor
Crank sensor
Speedo sensor - I'm on my 2nd, but that was my mistake & the chain caught the wiring
Gear position sensor

That's all I can think of as I've only been awake about 30mins.

Oh & if you see second hand coils, they've been NLA from Suzuki for years & years.,

All i can add, Fuel level sensor, Atmospheric Pressure sensor, Tip over sensor , Voltage Sensor/regulator, Fan cut in sensor. Rider mode sensor, is he happy or had crap day, they are the hardest to find.

Maan! That's a lot of sensors.. I was hoping these bikes were simple  :rofl3:
The last one is easy ... always happy on a bike  :onya:

These bikes ARE simple! try a modern injection system that has stuff like fuel temp to further refine injection timings & that's before you get to O2 sensors in the exhaust, knock sensors etc

Yeah I was being a bit TIC 😃

I was checking out the on line site for Mick Hone Suzuki, it has some useful schematics on the bikes, parts list etc etc also has prices which are a bit of a shock but that's genuine Suzuki so to be expected I guess.

Gee, I´ve got 50k km´s on the K5 and never changed any sensor. Never really changed anything besides consumables (filters,..) Guess mine´s really bullet proof. Was looking now for a 2nd bike in 2nd hand, BMW S1000XR, but with so much new tech guess I can no longer do everything without taking it to the shop. So, that´s what´s putting me off.

I'm the same 2001 Blue & White no sensors ever replaced.
A fuel pump once.
Nearly 160,000+kms so far and many more to come  :cheers:

TPS at 60K, other than that bulletproof, had 1982 GSX1100EZ which was much the same.

I got TPS for £47 recently plus £10 delivery, they list at £97 in the UK so I ordered two. Took about a week to arrive.

My parts should last forever as I never ride the bike haha, I've just looked and she's done 1200 miles in 4 years. She's cleaned and I've changed fork seals , chain & sprockets etc but that's it.
