Jakemate

Hi All, Thought I would intro myself. My name is Craig am 55 and live in Rockhampton as of April this year. I grew up in Wondai QLD and spent most of my working life in Brisbane till 2012 to 2019  stint in cloncurry finally got a transfer to Rocky to be closer to Mum still in Wondai (as Dad passed away boxing day 2106) growing up in Wondai and living opposite the sate forestry gave me the wonderful opportunity to start riding dirt bikes at the age of 13. I have had to many bikes to list all here but some memorable ones would be 1982 Suzuki RM465 the last model of the Yamaha RD400 b4 they went water cooled on the 350 models and a 1982 Ducati 900SS bevel that I brought from Phil Beaumont in Brisbane for $6500 I still have the receipt. oh well I know we have all had bikes we wish we kept. anyway I picked up my 2007 GSX with 42000 on the clock in April from a guy in Brisbane (I think he had it listed on this site) advertised for $6500 got it for $6200 as it needed new front brake rotors ,he was fair and came down a little  and we settled at 6200 I have since replaced the rotors (no offence to anyone but forget trying to spin the bobbins is a crock of shit all it gave me was skinned knuckles it doesn't work I don't care what anyone says) replaced with metal gear rotors from Brendale  and I must say is top notch stuff. I have to say this bike is impressing the hell out of me, of all the bike bikes ive had I find it by far the fastest most comfortable bike I've ridden. clocked 8000 k and just doing an oil change tonight , if i can add anything is I've noticed feedback of sump plug dripping I had same issue I fixed with smear of Permatex No 3 each side of crush washer this worked with out dropping oil just backed the bolt off a little and painted a smear with an artist brush. Doing second oil change tonight and have put a smear each side of new crush washer and let sit up for 2 hours b4 bolting, ill post how it goes, also noticed is taking 4.5 litres to a few mill below the full mark with a filter replacement not 4.8 as manual states and I let drain on level ground for 2 hour anybody else notice this, anyway love the forum and look forward to chatting to all cheers Craig

Welcome :hat:

That it takes less oil than the 4.8 has been noted by some here.
