Can the TPS effect performance?

Don't seem to be able to get the top end speed I used to be able to get (on a track of course :whistling:). Maybe I've just gotten fatter lol but wondering if the TPS could limit the bikes top speed if the throttle grip is at full lock but the tps is only reading that the throttles only 90% open I assume it would stop it reaching it's top speed? Knowing my luck I'll try adjusting TPS and it'll run like crap.

TPS normally plays havoc with the bottom end power but it wouldn't hurt to check what you have and then make a decision.

Dirty or fouled injectors or a blocked fuel pump filter maybe other causes.

Regarding, TPS adjusting - theoretically it's possible what TPS gives wrong information to ECU, and ECU control's injectors wrong way, giving less fuel then it should be.
90% open on fully locked throttle grip - check if your throttle cables are adjusted right way.

top end = peak power.
I would also suggest to take a look on high preasure fuel filter (inside tank, next to fuel pump). This is common issue on 14, if this filter do not pass enough fuel throw, to output max power.
In my case, fuel pump was able to pass 0.4L of fuel instead of 1.2L during 30sec.

there is explanation, how to solve this issue cheap and easy way

Also, peak power, could be affected by spark plugs...

Most likely one of the already mentioned things. I add imbalanced throttle valves. The manual has long lists why engine could lack power/run poorly in high speed range (page 8-7)

My spark plugs are due for a change to be fair. That being said the change interval for the spark plugs is 6k miles iirc? Done way over that but there's no odd behaviour from the bike. When I first got it, it used to hesitate and stutter is I opened the throttle too quick or can't remember if it was at certain RPM's or if it was under heavy load but it was soon sorted with new spark plugs so while they're due a change they're not that bad unless the ones that were in it were the wrong ones or something or just that it had been sitting most of the year not running.

Gonna change them and probably change air filter too. Shall also give the pressure fuel filter a check.
