I tried Halfords but they tell me that they stock the Cr8e NOT  Cr8ek  as the manual says.
Which ones did you get from them?
Halfords only stock the iridium plugs for some reason.
Cr8eix

I tried iridium plugs and noticed no difference in performance with them
The only thing was they stopped working while sitting over the winter standard plugs I've never had a problem with them lasting for several years .
My local Halfords does standard plugs .Also most car spare shops will stock the standard plugs too.
only a slightly modified gsx1400
oh and a standard one too

Iridium plugs will last longer in theory, with accurately controlled fuel injection, but they are more sensible to poor air/ fuel mixture, rich or lean.
And injection system of 14 is very rough, so I don't see any point to use expensive iridium plugs in 14.

A bit like oil and tyres the spark plug story. I have ngk iridium in mine, only 40th ks, never been a problem. No idea if better or worse but they werent expensive, $12 each. My wife car, nearly 100th ks, manifold off to replace rear 3. They are iridium, front 3 are normal, easy to change. Rear never missed a beat, front changed only once. New rear are $36, front are $18. No complaints from me. My only say in this is that ngk are the best. IMO.
