seth

In europe slow filtering in +35°c it comes on .
But its never come on in Scotland

It's got a cooling fan  :whatever:

SpongeBob

Never.
Anyway, it's really poorly located, and even if it kicks-in by any chance, I am not sure of it's efficiency.

haha yeah not much difference as I'm just under you in Cumbria

I had mine kick in once when I'd had it idling for a long time inside the garage. It cut in, ran then cut off, pause, then cut in again, run & cut off etc.  So I'd say it's working correctly, even though on the road it'll never cut in.
😎  Always looking for the next corner.  😎

The last time mine cut in it was while I was balancing the throttle bodies, I must have taken longer than previous occasions

Hooli

Yup but only during extended idling or long periods of slow filtering in damn hot temps.

Dunno why people think they are badly placed. They cut in at 120c and out at 108c, it doesn't take them long to drop the temp down so they work well.

If you want to test yours, unplug the connection right at the front of the RH side of the engine down near the frame rail. Bridge the two wires and the fan will kick in if the ignition is on.
Mine seized from lack of use so it's worth doing occasionally as well as spraying a bit of oil in the motor bearings when you can get to it.

grog

Dont know if mine ever been on riding, i wear ear plugs. Can remember once, shorted it out to see if it worked. One thing about 14 is heat off motor, far less than some. Thruxton i rode was bad. Guzzi i rode, those cylinders pump out some heat.

GSXKING

Same as Grog
I think I heard once in heavy traffic on a very hot day 🥵🥵
GSXKING 3:^)
