I feel sorry for the poor bastard that had to drink the can's of Fosters ffs.

The outside unit for my ducted air con is straight outside my bedroom window. It's quite loud, fortunately quiet some distance from the neighbours bedroom side of the house. Plus we don't run it often.

On the other hand that neighbours pool pump is right next to our bloody fence and makes loud annoying noises from around 8am til about 5 pm. Every day.  Which wouldn't be so bad except  my missus has been off work for 9+ months and has to put up with it.  We hardly ever see the neighbours, their house is like a fortress with electric gates etc. So I haven't had a chance to mention it to them.  Because it's during the day however it's not against noise regs UNLESS it's over a certain volume and it may or may not be.

As for dB's... @Basil Brush what did you use to measure the volume. If it was a mobile phone app, those are hopelessly inaccurate.
You'd need to use a properly calibrated professional meter to be accurate.

Bought a proper noise meter. Nice smallish size. Guaranteed +1.5 or - 1.5 accurate.

I'm aware of someone who had issues with fookwit neighbours so he started having a giggle to himself - now this behaviour is not big or clever and in no way condoned

one night after a run in with fookwit neighbours said someone crept outside into the neighbours garden and delicatly drew a stanley knife along the cables on the whirly gig (clothes drier) the next day the neighbours wife hung out a washing and as the neighbours wife finished hanging the last of the washing the lines mysteriously snapped dropping all of the washing to the ground - so when said someone came on from work there was the neighbour threading a new line onto the whirly gig - now said someone noticed the care and attention that was being put into the threading of this new YELLOW cable was almost perfect all 4 sides were equal length mmm said someone thought

Later that night said someone went outside wearing rubber gloves and with a cloth and a bottle of yellow food dye preceded to coat each line of the new yellow washing line in YELLOW food dye - next day neighbours wife hung out the washing - as said someone came in later that evening neighbour was changing the YELLOW cable over for a nice new white one

How said someone laughed . . . . . . . this is just one of the pranks that took place over the years - said someone no longer got angry with neighbours as he was having so much fun

Del - that is hilarious.  :hat:

I congratulate you on knowing 'someone' who performed these pranks. Don't worry - things are in hand. That machine has literally about half a dozen switches, buttons and junction boxes that are all crying out for some manipulation and adjustment.  :furious:

My neighbour with the dirt fill site is so paranoid about payback from his loving neighbours that he has installed security cameras.
When one of his lambs went missing he posted on facebook that his lamb had suspiciously disappeared. Poor thing was found dead in its water trough. The farmer of the year didnt know to put rocks in the trough so the little lambs can climb out if they fall in.
After that the Sud Efrikin gets a tree ripped out leaving a big hole in the ground. His missus turns up at another neighbours distraught because their cow is now cast in the bottom of the hole and she cant push or talk it back onto its feet. He goes down sticks his fingers in its nose twists its head over and gets timid mrs Sud Ef to push its leg over and up gets daisy !!
They didnt deserve his help, but the cow did.
Another great day on the right side of the grass.😎
