Oil cooler swap

My mate's k5 started to leak oil, a rock hit the cooler! 
Is there any oil cooler that fits on 14? Aftermarket coolers are expensive  and it takes weeks to deliver in Croatia. Will b12 or old gsxr cooler work? Fitting it on bike with custom brackets is not a problem, I'll give my best to fit it

Don't see any reason it would not work, if it can be fitted and connected properly, might be a small capacity change.

Sorry i dont know !... but i would think an oil cooler that holds the same volume of oil would do the job !

Thanx Andre! I've done google search (first thing I always do before asking for help here) and either oem or aftermarket coolers are not cheap. My mate is not on the forum and he is in a hurry...he travels alot on his 14 so we try to fix his bike as quick as possible.

Anyone fit others bike cooler and made it work?

Thanx barmy, that is what I was afraid of... other model cooler plus new custom lines will cost as much as 14 cooler.

The lower fitting of the oil lines to the engine is the same as other Suzuki's
So if you can find a 2nd hand
(Gsxr or bandit or other 1000cc+ oil cooled suzuki?) Cooler with lines with those same lower fittings you might be able to use that or modify with custom brackets to fit.
It should be upto the job of keeping the gsx1400 cool enough .
@kanerdog1X1 might be able to help with fittings as he supplied mine .
Or hopefully another member has details of which bike uses the same lower fittings

HEL uses SETRAB coolers (PRO LINE oil cooler Series 1 with 19 rows, I believe). The one they use for the 14, I have seen for 90€. Setrab coolers may have suppliers in your country.

You may be able to use the existing lower fittings by utilizing AN-fittings for metal tubing. Only have a German link https://www.bat-motorsport.de/Rohranschluesse:::63.html?MODsid=3315c8a3a8424df652b521de1ad1806b , but the pics/data should give you an idea. Only problem you may run into is not enough "perfectly" round tube-length on the original lower fittings. Maybe you are skilled enough to make it work (make them round or braze an extension to them).

Just saw this solution for fitting oil-line to original engine mount. New lines were just pressed on like the old ones.

I've had the flexi part of the oil lines on mine replaced by Pirtex, so it's easy enough to get done.

Hooli, I tried to look them up but found Pirtek (hydraulic service) http://www.pirtek.co.uk/contact-us Links for other countries provided.

I guess any hydraulic service can do the job.

Yeah that's who I meant. They had no issue at all with it & the replacement joint looks like the original so it must be a standard fitting that's used.
